I agree, it looks like a mondeo and a rather bland one at that.

The latest styling across the ford range is not to my taste at all.

Bring it back down to earth ford, you're not building spaceships!

I do like the new Fezza's though.

 

The zetec s looked good, but I don't like the new shape so much, particularly the st. I think it's the grill.

 

I don't like the new fezza either - it's lost it's style.

Dont like it, only the rear window shape has any personality to it, the rest looks bland as hell. Other companies have their cars look alike, All BMW M cars for a long time have had very similar front bumpers combined with the kidney grills but it always looks good, these recent ford grilles look shite

I actually think it looks okay, I wouldn't buy one, but then again I wouldn't buy any new car from Ford at the moment.

 

I'm laughing at the "its not an escort comments", what makes and escort an escort? If you look at the differences between the mk1/mk2 escort to what we ended with at the end of the production lifecycle, mk5/mk6's there was nothing in common between the what was made in the 70's and what was made in the 90's, certainly not in terms of looks so why can't this be another change in direction in terms of stylying but still be called an escort?

Stuey: I get what you mean about the mk6 not looking anything like the mk1/2 but at the same time, from the mk3 onwards, there are styling cues that are retained throughout the later models and you can tell the mk6 is an evolution of the mk3 for instance.- I kinda like this new Escort Concept, though I get what people are saying about it being a mini mondeo. But at least the Escort name will live on!

I thought the new fester looked good in the adverts but in real life when stood next to it, it just struck me as "trying to hard" looks wise, the lines are a bit too busy and it looks like its trapped between the two focus styles and hasnt quite got either of them right (theres a white one just over the road from me)

 

Id rather go back to a mk1.5 focus than anything else, my ST170 and other one where the best all-rounders I ever owned, great for chucking about but eco freindly when they needed to be.... missus loved the Astra though, must admit it was built like a tank and felt well planted on the road (plus a HGV trying to squash me against a crash barrier only resulted in the loss of two door skins!)
