shawdreamer
as most already know I get pretty bored pretty fast pretty easy. so I "fiddle".......... thats "technical fiddling" not "male fiddling"................ though admittedly.......... nevermind. here's some of my latest results............ http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31572.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31573.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31574.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31575.jpghttp://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31576.jpg and just incase someone assumes I just changed out led's multiple times DISCO DASH........... "is there something wrong officer?""could you tell me why you were swerving all over the road?, have you been drinking tonight sir?"not a drop officer, havnt been anywhere near a boozer!""then why the bad driving?""oh right.... shawdreamer
forgot to add details... fully remote controlled (so pop the IR sensor out somewhere discrete and you need never dismantle again).multiple preset colours (though I find the stronger base colours are best for overpowering the standard green tint).high intensity SMD LED's rated for 50000hr lifetime.tiny voltage/amp usage (so shouldn't kill your battery).no you dont have to have it set to "disco dash", that was just to show transitions between colours (you can chose whatever colour takes your fancy).multiple light level (can be dimmed to preference so no "plasma glare").easily wired into standard dash illumination circuit (tho I might mod a OEM bulb holder for the supply to really simplify things). hmmmmm.... now then.....what should I have a mess about with next? I have been playing with the whole downlighting from the door handles when remote unlocking so I might give that a bit of a kicking next. the bottom left dash looks fantastic bud. you will have to put up a how to for us which ones that?, all my pics display in a vertical line? shawdreamer
oh I forgot to mention................ had a quick nose and plasma dials are still going for around the £40-£50 mark even now (I personally wouldnt use them if they were given to me, tragically impractical things imho) and this conversion cost me a staggering grand total of....... £8 no additional costs... no real need for expensive tools or for that matter extensive know-how tbf... just..... £8 so......... who wants to go buy Plasma's now?.....anyone?..... come on people I could do with a laugh! Georgio
This is very good result, well done!Did you install leds under the dash too I guess,am I right?Did you keep the top lamps too or did you replaced them with leds also?I am thinking to do something with mine too,I have replaced the top lamps with leds a few years now,but I want to do something different.Trouble is that the previous owner has replaced the dials, and they are not transparent,I mean that the illumination that is in the panel is not seem through the numbers, and this ruins my plans This is how it looks for now,but I want to do something with the lettering.I am afraid that I will have to replace the backplates of the dials... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/Georgio59/2011-03-17221834.jpg In reality it is a bit better, there is some blurring in the photo due to the illumination, but my trouble is that the lettering isn't lit...
