Teribus' Car

Well, this is my car. The car is a 1995-M Ford Escort 1.8TD Ghia. As you can see, it's Diamond White, it's a 5-door, and it looks pretty average. When bought in Feb '04 it had 122,000 miles and currently has just under 141,000 (26th Sept '04).

I'm not set on modding my car to the extreme. I spent too much money on my old car, putting things on it that, yeah, imroved some aspects of the car, but ruined some others. With this car, i'm not gonna mess too much with it, instead settling for a few choice modifications to make the car look better, or to provide a function (hence why i've now fitted mudflaps, the mud on the side is always a pain to get off!). So, what I have setting it apart from how I bought it are:

Fox 6 evo 15" alloys with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 195/50/15 tires

Rear boot spoiler (Every MK5b & MK6 escort needs one, IMO)

3rd brake light (I'm goin for the safety factor, I feel safer with a 3rd brake light for some reason. Don't know why!!)

left hand fog light wired in

Alloy pedal extensions (my pedal rubbers were worn badly, and my workmate had these lying around and i got them for a few quid)

Now for the pics. Sorry they're a bit on the big side, if you mods would like, I'll basically leave it as links rather than post the pics...

This pic shows how the car looks with the rear fog lights working (for those who care... probably none of you)

And my jab at my work (see, this is what people see when they pull up to the car park outside my work, and obviously gives out a good impression)

Let me know what you think. Call it a crappy old banger if you want, i know it is! Gets me to work and back though.

Cheers

Update: 12th Sept '04

This morning, I added a nice tailpipe trim. Nothing special I know but it looks better than it used to!

Here's a pic:

It always seemed dumb to me too.

I mean, if you go abroad, the fog light is on the wrong side.

Whereas, if both are wired in, you don't need to worry

Not that I'll be abroad that often...

I must admit, i love the "S.S.D.D" stickers on my car. Very Suited to my work!

looks like a clean tidy example, the chrome surround matches the wheels nice :thumb:

yup.

I reckon it needs a set of Chrome lexus 'Auto-art' lights at the rear though (as per "photoshoppers" post in Main Section).

It is pretty clean. Though that said, I have had to deal with some rust on the passenger door (which is actually dented though you can't really see it).

Just needed a good polish otherwise to get it looking good

Wanna get something to shine up the "ESCORT" though, it's kinda faded...

  • 4 weeks later...
looks good mate keep up the good work,Pity about the aberdeeen sticker but somebody has to support them.

:thumb:

I don't actually support them, the sticker's been on the car since I got it. I'm 1/4 Aberdonian anyway, so I just left it there.

Couldn't really care about football, I find it boring really..
