tarmac terrorer
I have 16-inch alloys, with 205/45 tyres and need some advice about how much I can lower my car without having problems with speed humps or arch rubbing. I would like a suspension kit not just lowering springs, so who’s do you think I should buy. Please help, my car looks like it’s on stilts. sortedford
speed bumps are a bugger mate, depends on where you live and how big they are, mines got the origional wheels at the min(gettin the new ones next week) and it catches on humps if over 15mph with 3 of us in the car, and blob islands and mines not lowerd any.i think the norm is 30-40mm? Never bottomed out but the ride is quite stiff and seems to be getting harder Considering swapping springs, but I dont know what other companies sets are like

bouncyGTI
mine's lowered by 35mm on pi springs all round and it had uprated kyb shocks. The handling is Shite though. like the other geezer said before with his hard ride, mine seems to be getting harder too.its proper pissing me off now, the standard 15"alloy on my gti have never rubbed on the arches but where the cat seems to be really low on these escorts that keeps rubbing everything....i wish i kept my old springs and shocks so i could put them back on. if anyone has standard ones they wish to swap, let me know please......xr3i_uk@yahoo.co.uk.....Chris
