Dubs
Shame you've had to let it go after all the hard work put into it. One of my favourite evo cars. Best of luck with the new car (whatever it may be) Edited January 10, 2009 by Dubs

MarkyMark
Is the new owner coming to EVO? Good question! Dont know, it still had the EVO stickers on and i told him about the site, would be good if he did.Is it Doinkmills? no, need an estate or similar for now, something i can use to earn money rather spending it. Hoping to be back in an escort before march, nothing special just something that i can use to bring to shows. Who knows i might even have mine back if he decides hes had enough, finger crossed

Neil-Serenade
This is the first time i have come across this Escort and i never thought one could look this good. The blending in of the bumper, skirts and wings really work, shame they didnt make them like this because it looks stunning, gives that wide look which i like. How did you go about acheiving this? Cheers

Neil-Serenade
Only been on the site for 8 months and im not on every day, just in and out. Have just spent the last hour looking through the whole thread and what was acheived was amazing. The amount of work put in what you acheived is something i really admire and respect. Ill admit that i dont like the colour, would have looked stunning in white but then each to their own, cant all like the same colour but agree with many others in saying it look liked it just left the factory. Think car designers should get on these sites more often to get some inspiration lol.
sidrick
Does it matter how old a SUYM thread is, Pete? (though I agree the answer to his question is obvious) Probably a good thing that a few old ones are bumped so newer members can see it wasn't always GTI skirts and Mondeo wheels, IMO. No it matters not at all, especially in such a thread as this one, just gets me when people don't take the time to read it & admire the work put into it instead of asking a question that may be explained far better by seeing it for themselves Scott.Maybe my phrasing in my post didn't quite explain what I intended. Fogulrs
cars stunning! was toying with the idea of s1 arches on my mk6 and having it painted graphite grey or porshce dolphin grey! but with different wheels tho maybe rs200 wheels if i could find them but would have the arches riveted on and made of metal too stop the inevitable cracking of filler! but seriously alot of credit too the builder! aboslulte stunner of a mk6 cheerscraig
PeeWee
Im not entirely convinced that metal arches riveted on would prevent filler from cracking?
Fogulrs
well if you have metal arches riveted on instead of using filler your not gonna get cracks! dont know how too edit posts on here!!!!!!

Not quite sure how you would fit riveted s1 arches to a mk6 without filler though. It wasnt the arches cracking its the filler making the smooth mating of the two.Simply banging on metal arches would make it look like a battle tank surely? Craig855S
I think he is implying metal replica arches with all the smoothing done using metal and weld (ground down) whilst possible it would be very expensive and labour intensive for a metal worker. Max powers project slam was all metal wasnt it?http://www.m1gst.com/4images/data/media/70/confusion_1.jpg It might not have been slam that was all metal, maybe it was this one? http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1944/postertgt15.jpg this one got burnt out didnt it but still looked the same shape because all the panels were metal?
