JC
looking good fella, any more on your install? yeah been working on it, all the amps were wired in professionally, one for the sub and one to run the 4 speakers in the original ford positions with adaptors fitted for 17cm jbl speakers all round. i'd put some MDF down the side of the boot to attach the amps to, as can take my sub out and put the seat down for transporting large items, http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01031.jpg have built an MDF frame and started to carpet it with carpet off the back of a ford, worked out cheaper buying stuff for a breakers for £1 than buying new carpet! http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01097-1.jpg how it looks at the moment: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01105.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01107.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01111.jpg just about room for a little shopping: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01108.jpg still need to put a strip around the bottom of the amp and in the corner, and going to sort out the way the sub is held in as at the moment it looks like its sitting on a pallet, but still keeping it easily removable so i can have a boot and get to my spare tyre! But its getting there me thinks!

JC
Looks good, however your going to be pissed off if you need to change a bulb Hehe! I thought of that as was taking the mick outta Dave for the same thing, the one bit of the MDF frame pulls out quite easily, the bit on the right as its just wedged in
massivewangers
Not ever so keen on the install if I'm honest, but the car looks well, very tidy. Going back to my old post on lowering. Would just adding GTI/SI springs bring it down a touch, whilst still keeping it practical?

Yeah I think if it had a more sensible sized box it would be quite smart looking. It just seems to take up uber amounts of space! I thought they did sit marginally lower myself, though of course the bodykit could make that seem an illusion. But yours looks a touch higher than an GTI/RS would. Could always try to hunt down a set of the RS option springs, 30mm drop would suit it well. My only real criticism of the whole car really! Trig
you could see if you can get Eibach springs, they are -30mm, so not too much, enough to keep it practical.

Funny you should say that I was having a look and Eibach springs do seem to have good reviews, or maybe Apex? may be tempted to in the new year when i change my insurance! danposs86
Better than standard, doesn't lower it that much, slight big of stiffening, however retains its comfy ride.
