Redsquirrel
I have a 1.4l escort, the only mod is the twin exhaust. I put 45 quid petrol in 2 weeks ago, and its all gone. I have done about 170 miles with it. Is this good consumption? cheers

Pelles
same problem as me mate! my car EATS petrol! 1.4i too £10 = 50 miles! £20 = 105 miles my record was 64 miles to a £10 my exhaust pops on the way down, it spits fuel out the back slightly, so i dont know if my ECU needs remapped. Pelles
it better not be the car! lol i was hoping to put it in and get the ecu remapped to improve fuel economy, my last escort was the 1600 16v and i got 80miles to the tener, with granny driving i sometimes got 90-100 miles. JonC
300 miles - 30£ roughlyso 100 per tenneralthough since having my car chipped and remapped to suit the throttle body ive noticed the petrol gauge isnt moving as fast as it did before....
Waxmonkey
jeez. before I converted the Rover to LPG I was gettin roughly 70 miles to £10, get nearly double that after LPG, The Corsa'll do 130 miles easy on a tenner. :]
Colin
Well............................ I get 33 mpg in my 1.4I I get 375 miles from £38 quid's worth of Unleaded............. So i think you have a serious leak there mate, either that or somethnig is very wrong. Does the car feel unresponsive? Prehaps the fuel injector is jamed open and is burning huge amounts of fuel.......... Or prehaps Wax has been round at night with a hose pipe and a petrol cannister, AGAIN! Redsquirrel
Turns out I have done 300 miles, not less than 200. But still thats £15 per 100 miles. Would an exhaust use much more? (as in my twin exhaust).
