Quick ques, with all the money you've spent now on this, could you not have just bought a real one?

No fun in that though is there? :)

No fun in owning a real 355?

Are you on drugs?

Hoping to get an update tomorrow, not got any pics yet, although I have asked him to take some. Not got a courtesy car, so just driving the bmw at the moment.

No where near the cost of a real one, and services cost of a hundred quid rather than 5000 are a bit more managable! Would rather have a real one, but don't think I would use it much, be too protective over it.

Had planned to bring the power up to around the 300bhp mark, but not so sure now

Still no pics, had an update, not good news. It went to the oven to be baked before going to the paint shop to get any air pockets out of the new fibreglass. Unfortunately and the original fibreglass on the doors has broken up, not sure as to the reason behind this but they are now having to strip the doors down and rebuild them to ensure it doesn't crack up when the sun comes out.

The retrim has also been delayed, they phoned up to ask what colour thread I wanted them to use for the stitching on the leather, I've said to match the thread used in the seats, so it sounds like this is now underway.

At the moment it is looking likely to be the end of May that it will be completed, 6 months after the crash! (should get the prize for the longest running show us your shunt thread). Unfortunately the car was due to be used at another wedding this coming saturday, so I've had to tell them the car isn't available. Still rather the job was done properly rather than being rushed.

Will update you guys when I hear more.

It's taken 6 months for repair at a cost of £7000 + £1700 for a few extras I had done, but I was finally able to pick it up on saturday. They have done an excellent job, got a real nice finish to it, panel gaps are all spot on, drives completely straight (had to have the chasis rails straightened front and back) is almost as good as I did the first time :D

It's a completely new rear end, new front wing and slam panel, had a complete respray...

And the extra bits: a cream leather & red carpet retrim, ferrari h-gate gear shift and a bit of painting in places I didn't paint.
