Well the story goes about a year and a half ago I purchased my current car which is our Audi TT and had no choice but to regrettably sell the escort However the lad I sold it to which is the son of my mums mate bought it and has literally sat it not doing anything to it for a whole year and a half as it was suppose to be the car he learns to drive in, that didnt happen. So in all that time its done 0 miles and is exactly how I left it all he's done is sit in it. So the opportunity arose and I jumped at it and bought it back off him to save it and restore it back to its former glory and better hopefully this time round too. The bodywork is in need of a fair bit of TLC now from all the neglect mainly the rear arches etc. So planning on replacing the rear arches, part of the rear chassis section and whatever else it needs and getting it all gleaming again. Then hopefully at some point RS turbo it too Id be over the moon if it was all repaired and sorted out just how I want it for fordfair 2014 which is an aim of mine but im not sure if I can get it done in time due to money constraints, but im just going to see how it develops as I dont want to rush it and not do it exactly right how I want it as ive no need to get it on the road ASAP as obviously I still have my other car but im gona try. Sitting in my collection of parts also I have a full set of GTi doorcards to fit aswell to complete the GTi interior I have, as so far ive only fitted the seats. So plenty more updates to come yet, just need to go past this winter stage so the weather is better to work in and I have more light, roll on the summer! Escort_Kid Posted February 1, 2014 Author Share Posted February 1, 2014 Not really an update as such, but I got the old girl out, gave it a quick spin round the block to keep the brakes etc working, and gave her a good wash'n'wax to remove the last of all the dirt, tree sap and god knows what else that had been left all over it in the year and a half it had just been sat doing nothing by the previous owner. Cheers Am looking at changing the wheels on it currently too, to either mk6 rs2000 wheels or 16" mondeo wheels.
