reaper tw4
Just got a quote from quinn direct with all mods declared, £1072.25 with 2yrs ncb on a 1.4!! Edited January 28, 2009 by reaper tw4
escort4x4
All modifications that change and affect the appearance and performance of the car must be declared, this is due to the fact that if you have a accident and is repairable they will fit factory fitted parts, if you choose not to you will make your insurance invalid, causing a nasty head ache for the future, best bet is to search the web, also phone up companys that specialize in insuring vehicles with mods that suit whats fitted to your car, this way you know your covered for everything, My mate spent a whole day removing his body kit due to the fact he hadnt declared it, so save yourself the bother and declare everything. EscortxEmma
M8s say no point in insuring mods if your only 3rd party as insurance company wont see the car but i guess thats only if you cause the accident as ob your repairs wouldnt gert paid for. My current insurers charge me loads atm for my mods but will give the chris knox a call need to insure kit, alloys, exhaust etc only performance mod is the breaks i think oh and exhaust i guess lol. cheers
KNITERIDER
and its lowered isnt it? suspension is performance and induction kit/filter? and if a copper pulls you and checks to see if modds are covered and there not then you get done for having no insurance to

Andy 3i
I believe so...unfortunately. I;ve run the risk for almost 2yrs now but now it's time to declare them just for peace of mind. Dont really want fines, points, etc.

wwwd
Can any1 recommend an Insurance Company that does not charge ridiculous amounts for modifications - bodykit etc etc is there an insurace company that doesnt charge any extra for modifications? im up for renewal in march! Also went on compare the market. com and looked at the difference between just me being on the policy and if i add my dad as an additional driver and they seemed to go down about £100 or so, whys that??I just used GoCompare.com and checked the boxes where I've modified my car and they give you the best price. If the lowest price is still quite high then you're probably not going to do any better. I put down all of my modifications and got insurance with Bell for about £400 a year. And that's with zero no claims as well.
EscortxEmma
When i got my insurance for my current car i asked the man on the phone - honestly can the police do anything if you havent declared the mods and they find this out when they stop you and he said no they cant, like u cant get done for invalid insurance it is only the insurance company that are interested and not the police
