eldarto
I agree with most that there is no point getting an RS2000 at your age, build up some NCB 1st. Just to rub it in i've been quoted £360 fully comp (and a cossie would set me back £650)
tezmanian devil
i had a cossie rep rs2k when i was 17 and i bought the car for £3750 and i was payong £3750 for the insurance lol rediculas looking back onit, i wouldn't bother tbh. they are fun tho just wack a rs2k lump in your car, much cheaper I agree with most that there is no point getting an RS2000 at your age, build up some NCB 1st. Richie_Si
I am 21 with 4 yrs NCB doing 7k miles a year and I was quoted £760. To be honest mate, don't bother going with an RS2000 so quickly (or a 2.0l for that matter). Bide your time with the car you've got and then when you get over 22 yrs old insurance should be a lot cheaper

(that was on a late model '95 T25 Escort Cosworth LUX as well, all i need now is the £20k to buy one )
Andy 3i
just wack a rs2k lump in your car, much cheaper thats not cheaper its more expensive to insure a car with an engine swap than a standard oneThats not strictly true. Stu
whats best fing to do then.. Get something affordable..... It's a good system, each year you can get a slightly better car with the same insurance budget, as long as you've not crashed or got nicked! Gonzo0
Get yourself a Fiesta ST, insurance group 13 and just as fast as an RS2000.

Be cheaper to insure a Veyron! Try and insure it on mummy's or daddies insurance... if that fails then work up some ncb... I'm 21, 1year on the road and 1year ncb... and insurance companies will laugh if I tried to insure anything bigger than a 2.0 (Standard models) or anything with a sports badge (RS, XR, S-Line, Sport, Type S/R etc) over a group 12So a group 16 RS2000 is out of the question for me(although I'd rather something better for the insurance payments)... unless I have a large win on something... dutchkev
id go for looks over performance, all cars can reach 70mph, dont really matter if it can get there faster as the faster it gets there, the faster the old bill will pass your licence on to her maj to wipre her arse on! chrisxn
whats best fing to do then.. Keep hold of your 1.6 or get the vaseline and bend over I'm 20 and have 2 years ncb and pay around 650 for my 1.6. If you want more power, consider a turbo. MIGHT be cheaper than an engine coversion if you shop around for good insurance.

There isn't a law on how fast you can accelerate as far as I know?
