Trig
Shes crying out for a 90 spec rear spoiler though No its not, factory all the way. It now has it's freshly painted red bonnet fitted, but before you get too excited, have you ever done something and then thought, bugger, should have left it as it was: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120801_210857.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120801_211029.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120801_210922.jpg I'm not very good with the old rattle cans, but it can be polished back, it has 3 1/2 tins of paint on it. Shame its like a different colour though, cheers Halfords. Hey ho, when it gets its new roof and tailgate it will get a full respray. Oh, it goes in for it's MOT on Friday
Trig
Good news campers! It passed its MOT. Only one advisory, a rear wheel bearing needs a little nipping up. Woo hoo
Naylor2006
Still though id love to own this, my bumper was sprayed with rattle cans, looks ok, i'm now on my third tailgate now though, decided the best option was to just find one that was originally painted in my colour so hopefully its a better match. My current tailgate looks gash.

Trig
Spent today preparing it for Ford Fair, changed a couple of bits that Ive wanted to do for a while. Re-tango'd the front end and fitted the front spots (which involved taking the mesh off the back of the bumper) http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120811_183217.jpg It also got its first wash since I've owned it (April last year) http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120811_183243.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120811_183320.jpg Its fuelled up and all ready for tomorrow. Trig
The 'light' restoration has started with the stripdown This is how it currently stands http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121125_212418.jpg The first thing I plan on doing it the roof/sunroof tray, so I stripped out everthing from the carpets up. I haven't finished getting the headlining out yet as it is held in by all the door and window rubbers, including the windscreen seal. I managed to get everything out apart from the windscreen. I did attempt it, but that hasn't gone well: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/IMG-20121123-WA0003.jpg Rust wise it is a pretty good story so far, there is one unexpected rust patch that needs cutting out and replacing that is just behind the B pillar, where the rear window sits http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/IMG-20121123-WA0004.jpg The inner sills and boot floor look good though http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192621.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192609.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192449.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192419.jpg What I can see with the interior out is that the rear arches have been repaired, to what appears to be a reasonable standard http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121125_212528.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121125_212537.jpg I stripped the bootlid before taking it off, including taking the rear screen out. This is the state of it http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192911.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192921.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192843.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20121123_192849.jpg Next is actually getting the winsdscreen out and getting the roof lining out then I can remove the sunroof tray and see where we go from there. sortedford
Good start Floors looking well too! Make sure to check where the front pans meet the bulkhead. Theres a white tailgate in Redditch, but I went to look before and it wasn't great so don't go after that one
