McRic
Needs some original spot lamps on it, I've got no idea why but I always think the S2 looks wrong without them.
DaweV6
Not got a cosworth/mondeo setup to go on it Trig? It already had a cossie front setup when Trig bought it. With approx. 200 BHP (170 or something on the wheels IIRC) it's quite needed.

Trig
Just to add, the brakes are probably shocking because of the age, so I have another set of calipers & sliders waiting to go on when I get a new pair of discs. I've dont a couple of bits and pieces to the car since I got it just to try and get it looking a bit more OEM. The old boot struts were not performing as well as they could: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/986a2781.jpg New struts sorted that out http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/5bb7c7a2.jpg You might have also noticed the shelf without speaker holes. I got a new grommit and clip for the bonnet stry to stop that rattling about http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/67bbd413.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/711bec5d.jpg In the past the timing belt cover had been taken off, so I bought a perspex one to cover the belt http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/5d34fd16.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/84d5bbfe.jpg I have also fitted a pair of standard rear lenses and got hold of a magnex stainless system which looks better than the old exhaust and sounds a million times better. The bonus was that I sold the old one on for more than the magnex cost http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2011-08-28180742.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2011-08-28180730.jpg When the Magnex was fitted I welded on a new mount so that the familiar sight of a sagging centre section isn't quite so familiar on this car. I also have a new roof panel for the car that has been treated to stop it rusting, I just havent fitted it yet.

Trig
I'm trying to sort out some new front brakes for it. I bought a set of front calipers, but I can't remember what they are. And they have no pads. I think they are Mondeo V6 fronts, 283mm. The carriers have the number 492 cast into them and the calipers have 8089 cast into them, if anyone has a clue or maybe has Mondeo V6 brakes fitted, could you have a look at the numbers cast into the caliper and confirm if mine are or are not Mondy V6's. Cheers
Trig
I’ve decided to get round to the brake upgrade, 1st stage was to get brake callipers, which I actually did ages ago and I’ve forgotten what they came from, which is making getting the correct brake pads a bit difficult (they didn’t come with any). 2nd stage is to get the right discs, 2wd Sierra Cosworth front discs are the order of the day: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-02-25190346.jpg These are a touch bigger than the brakes I’m taking off, which are quite ineffective, mostly due to the sliders needing attention. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-02-25190533.jpg A test fit with the unknown Ford brake callipers shows that what I currently have fits (they just need a couple of washers to space it out), I just need to figure out what pads I need and paint the callipers. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-02-25190610.jpg So, I’m getting there. The MOT is due at the end of the month so I want to get the brakes upgraded ready for the test. When I had a spare 10 mins I took the rusty bonnet off and fitted its replacement, which needs painting to match: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-02-15205507.jpg Progress. Its slow, but its progress.

Trig
So, like I said, progress is slow. I eventually sussed out that the calipers are from a Mondeo ST200/ST24 so I went down to my friendly local factors and bought a new set of pads and a shiny new set of caliper springs. With the calipers painted, here is how the driver side looks: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-04-11194612.jpg I've also been doing a bit of shopping. I have a set of front spotlights, new indicator lenses (orange), an original engine crossover pipe, replacement bootlid new -40mm springs and brand new Ford front shocks (still need to get the rears). I also bought a rear disc brake conversion setup but I'm not sure I will bother with that anymore.
Trig
Its been a while and I have slowly been doing bits on the RS so I thought a few pics and an update was due. Brakes. The bigger ones are on and bled up, ready to go, looking good behind the original alloys: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-04-11194612-1.jpg I bought a new set of springs to raise the car by a few mm. A set of Apex -40mm springs went on in place of the ones that were fitted which I guess were -60mm. A pair of brand new front shocks were fitted at the same time. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-06-09161417.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-06-09161426.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-06-09171828.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-06-09171817.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-06-09174704-1.jpg Looks much better being a touch higher, plus it will get off my drive without catching on the crest of the driveway. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-06-10185449.jpg I got round to repairing the odd rust patch at the top of the C pillar, just underneath the gutter. A bit of Bilt Hamber rust converter and it got a lick of paint. I haven’t got a shot of the finished patch yet, it needs a bit of a buff to try and take the emphasis away from the different shade of red, oops. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-07-14103830.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-07-14104137.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/2012-07-15214334.jpg I have started to paint the bonnet, as the original was rusty I got a replacement, but it was black. And the Rosso Red paint I have is a bit of a different shade to the car. Nevermind, it will get a full respray when the roof gets replaced. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b81/trig_112/1987%20Escort%20RS%20Turbo/20120729_215701.jpg As it stands, its looking good for its MOT and then on to Ford Fair!
