Didn't know if any of you were interested, but we have a 1600 Zetec SE engine being built for a Race KA.

This is what the spec will be (i believe)

Stock Crank.

Forged Rods.

Forged Pistons.

AHM Head.

Stock Valves.

Not sure what cams are coming.

Jenveys.

Probably could rev to 8500RPM, but we'll say 8000RPM and let the owner figure that one out.

Thought i'd do a progress thread.

Before:

Now work has begun:

As far as we can go that end without a manifold.

The man himself

Just one more inlet to go and the exhausts. I hope to finish most of it off tomorrow.

Got into work, had a coffee to wake me up as i was suffering from Insomnia last night thinking of how to make this better, came up with a few mods then went straight to sleep.

Got dropped off at work, Dad had a lot of running around to do. 4 and a half hours porting straight (like a boss!) and the head was finished. My God it's a beaut! My best head yet.

Mike had some AHM designed Kent Cams kicking about from his 1600.

i'd like to know more about doing this

i had a go on my crossflow but didn't go too mad with it just took the casting marks out of it to open the ports up a bit and improve the air flow

are you going to get the head flow tested to see if each port is matched

If you're tall, it's back destroying work being 6' 4" working on a 3' - 4' engine stand.

Aye, what carbs you running?

Nope, we don't do that, although we talked about how simple it could be to do.
