Ahmotorsport
Quattro all poly bushed. Head off a Corsa 1.2 twin cam thingy. What a game that is! Sump coming off and piston out next as we haven't found what the knocking noise is yet, looking expensive (run low on oil and the end of the spark plug fell off) http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001225.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001228.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001229.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001230.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001231.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001232.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001233.jpg

The reason for it, is the facebook page really, they like to see whats going on with their car, they all think it's a great idea. I'm sure one will catch me out! Perhaps i should rub the number plate out before hand.
Ahmotorsport
Finished off painting the engine build bay, it needed doing. Looks good now, just some plasterboard bits to go up in the roof when the Electrician is finished. Quattro strut gaiters and rubbers turned up, built one strut and fitted it, need a Die to run down the top thread on the other side as it's a bit naff. Finally the bench tops turned up from the sheet metal shop I pulled the sump off the Corsa, i was shocked, the main cap and big end bolts are tiny! The crank ones being 5/16's bolts (that's 8mm to you metric people) and the rods being 1/4" (that's 6mm to you metric people) Took the piston out to be shocked further, i have never seen a rod like it (nor Pa for that matter) it's tiny, light weight and it's got a hole in the middle.... Anyway, the problem is the end of the plug has kissed the top piston ring and the ring is stuck in there, that explains that. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001236.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001237.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001238.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001239.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001235.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001234.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001240.jpg Edited August 8, 2012 by Ahmotorsport

Ahmotorsport
I love this threadThat's good then! Forgot to add, couldn't get hold of the bloke with the Saph as we were supposed to collect it today. Also loaded the Quattro engine into the van from the other workshop, get that unwrapped and check it still turns over and that, built it about 3 years ago and it's just sat there, luckily we put it together using Porsche assembly grease instead of oil. Ahmotorsport
Friday - got the clutch on the Audi engine. Painted Audi calipers Saved the Corsa person some money, we managed to salvage the piston and ring (low mile engine, so rings still good) http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001250.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001249.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001248.jpg Was at Silverstone on Saturday for the Bentley meeting (go every year) really good day it was. Dave in the Cossie put in a good time of 1:10 which landed him 3rd and Jim 1:11 which put him 7th. For those of you that don't know, Jim is 77 years old with a 500+ BHP 7.2L Chevy in the front of a 1950's Allard J2, it is quite a bit of kit. As it's a handy cap race, Dave had to start from the back, Jim started near the front, for some reason, but they both had to lap all the slower cars twice in order to win. They both stormed down the grid, Dave went past Jim on the 5th lap or so. Dave ended up 5th and Jim 11th, i still don't understand how but anyway. There is also some debate, the bloke that won the race had been 'cheating' he was doing 1.28 seconds in the qualifying but 1.19 in the race. Anyway, Dave's fastest time was a 1.08 and Jims a 1.10. Jim three seconds faster than last year. There is still a lot more to come out of that Sierra as he's still not reaching 2 bar boost (he doesn't keep the revs up in the corners and it needs an engine rebuild, quite badly.) http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001256.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001257.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001254.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001255.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001258.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001259.jpg
Ahmotorsport
Not a lot done today, everyone came down for a chat. http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001274.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001272.jpg http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001275.jpg During all the chatting that was going on, i got bored of hearing the same thing, i could have done some work but, i was still nackered to be honest. I've been drawing for years, not so much as of recently though, so thought i'd have a go. Turned out okay from memory. Any tips from any drawing people on here? I've asked my Pa as he draws 10x better than i can but, he can't seem to explain it xD http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/Ahmotorsport/WP_001278.jpg
