Ad16v
Well after being quoted some stupid prices insurance-wise to go from a 1.6 finesse to a GTi, I had a good look round at what else i could afford and what kinda insurance costs i'd be looking at. After many calls and some flat out denials i decided to buy a e36 bmw lol Only £49 more than what they wanted for me to insure a GTi :S I had a good look around and found this only a few miles away 1999 BMW 323i convertible individual in atlantis blue Went up and had a look at it and was blown away at how clean it was, inside and out.. barely even a mark anywhere, previous owner had really looked after it and the 3 year old roof has never even seen the rain, after a good check over by a mechanic mate i was happy to buy it I was told by the previous owner that there's only 7 of these car's (colour and engine) in the UK but im not sure how true it is haha Some basic specs : 2.5l, full leather, M3 alloys, only 68k genuine miles, private plate, powerflow backbox http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/reap3r1/IMG_0575.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/reap3r1/IMG_0567.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/reap3r1/IMG_0568.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/reap3r1/IMG_0569.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/reap3r1/IMG_0571.jpg http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p592/reap3r1/IMG_0574.jpg Don't have any major plans for it yet, have ordered some smart numberplate surrounds and im on the lookout for a hardtop. Undecided what to do with my escort as yet Comments always welcome

sidrick
That'll look sweet once you get some standard/dealer plates on it. Have you looked into swapping engine goodies from a 325i? There's near enough 200bhp to be had from that motor

Naylor2006
That'll look sweet once you get some standard/dealer plates on it. Have you looked into swapping engine goodies from a 325i? There's near enough 200bhp to be had from that motor Yeh but then after declaring to his insurance company itll ruin the nearly GTI premium. Very nice car, not a huge fan of convertables but cant deny the stance of this one.
scottybo
swap inlet manifold and throttle body from 325i straight away! 323 one is the same one as 320 which is way smaller than the 325 and 328 sorry fr my demands lol nice motor though!

Craig855S
Thats nice!! I can almost forgive the mirrors (which although meant to be on E36s, these are fake, and not coded) In fact, the mirrors go with the seats with the top down....so meh, I'd leave em on. I do believe this engine can be tweaked up with the 325 parts so i'd get that done if you fancy more power on the cheap. Other than that, i'd leave it absolutely alone What did you pay if you dont mind me asking?
tomsy
Really nice motor this im guessing it probably cost a little bit more than a GTI.
