lies gti Posted August 25, 2012 Share Posted August 25, 2012 hi my alternator is only charging at about 13.2v and drops lower after a long drive. any ideas on what it could be i have another alternator here that i can try , but i have no idea how to get the old one off.its a mk6 gti so it has got the a/c pump in the way of the alternator any help greatly appreciated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bit harsh, I thought it looked rather good in many areas tbf. in areas maybe, but I'm afraid the bad points seriously outweigh the good imo. for example, in general the cars aggressive look is appealing and works with the curves, I can even forgive the "sadboy bonnet" which is a personal dislike of mine. but then..... he put dayglo green alloys on it, then seemingly not content with that styling mishap..... he put dayglo SteveStickers on the windows, fully tinted the rear lights, slapped YankWank urban camo pattern everywhere (Ive never understood that terrible trend) and slapped a HedgeHog cannon to the back. Has the alternator only recently started causing you problems? I would think when idling and booming that setup some serious drain is going to be kicking off. Must be your age as almost everything seems to offend you in some way I personally Love the green (my fav colour).
