scottybo Posted November 21, 2012 Share Posted November 21, 2012 as you all know i fitted the mongoose cat back to my escort a few weeks back can anyone tell me why its so quiet, its not to much that i wanted it to be loud as anything i just feel like it should make a lot more noise than it does from idle to about 4k rpm, the exhaust is silent, you wouldnt even know it had been changed only makes noise between 4k and 4.5k, anything after that and the noise disappears again its really strange anyone got any ideas? (im back using standard manifold and cat atm as protech doesnt fit properly without other mods i dont have the time or money to carry out atm) ive seen vids on youtube of various 1.6's with exhausts and they all sound great, hell ive even seen 1.0l with exhausts that sound way better than mine which sounds pretty much standard Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However it has a 2nd silencer closer to the cat. Does your's? I had a fat jap style exhaust previously ind it sounded like a beast. Mine's also a 1.6. Remove the centre box if you want it louder. grrrrr, and i gave the scorpion to supersport! oh well looks like ill have to get my angle grinder and welder out then lol, or i might just cut a window in the rear box and hollow the fcuker out!
