sidrick
This is 40 - http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/This_Is_40_8_zpsbfb8bfdd.jpg Generic Judd Apatow comedy which is a continuation of the 'Knocked Up' story. Pretty much the same again with 'random' one-liners that are now getting tired. It's alright, but not as good as knocked up. Jason Segel was definitely funnier when he wasn't in every-single-movie. 7.15/
escortjas
Saw 'Life of Pi'. Go see it. Even if you think it isn't your kind of film, it draws you in. The special effects are mind blowing and the story is good. I've given it a solid 8/10. Edited January 12, 2013 by escortjas
Brown
Life of Pi is a metaphorical masterpiece, which has been marketed really badly.. my screening was FULL of children. It is NOT a children's film, and is not a film about animals. Definitely worth a watch.. Just got done with Gangster Squad, which was brilliant as expected.. some great characters in the mix, with Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin doing a sound job in the lead roles. Needed some more Nick Nolte, but a great watch.. Looking forward to Django an Lincoln next weekend
Ahmotorsport
Life of Pi Gave this a go after what Brown and escortjas said. All in all a very good recommended watch if you like horror. My personal view was a strong 8/10 Edited January 14, 2013 by PeeWee
Ahmotorsport
This is 40 I didn't think it was very good. It was one of those films where i looked how far in i was and said "Oh sh!t i'm only half way through" it was pretty boring. The only good part was when Paul Rudd was shouting at that kids Mum and said "iCunt" Generous 5/
sidrick
Seven Psychopaths - http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/sevenpsycopaths_zps839636c1.jpg The title pretty much tells you what the film is about. Dark comedy with a reasonably all star cast. Sam Rockwell is fantastic and Woody Harrelson and Christopher Walken put in good performances. There are some proper laugh out loud moments as well. Some good action and gore, but the film feels as if it doesn't know what it is and can be a bit too pretentious at some points. Other folk might appreciate this, but I'd have preferred if it stayed exclusively with it's action/comedy blend which it pulls off fantastically. 8/10 at a push. sidrick
3, 2, 1... Frankie Go Boom - http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/trailer-for-frankie-go-boom.jpg Plumped for this as it has Hellboy and Jax Teller out of Sons of Anarchy which I've been watching a lot of recently. The film is about a guy (Charlie Hunnam) who was bullied by his older brother (Chris O'Dowd) as a child, and when the older brother comes out of rehab after a drug addiction he is apparently a changed man, however, the youger brother still seems to come off worst from their escapades. Not a bad film at all. Very few genuinely funny moments, but it ticks along at a decent pace and is original enough to keep you interested. Solid performances from all involved, with humerous small roles from Ron Perlman and Big from Sex and the City. However, Chris O'Dowd, the most Irish man ever born, puts on the worst American accent you'll ever hear. 7.5/10 Edited January 16, 2013 by sidrick
sidrick
Savages - http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/Savages.jpg Really bad film. Don't bother with it at all. 4/10 This Means War - http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/this-means-war.jpg Comedy that's not very funny. Watchable but instantly forgettable. 6/
Brown
Django 10/10 Wow. Absolutely amazing.. everything from the story, to the dialogue, and the leading performances from Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio. If you see nothing else this year, watch Django.. oh, as a bonus, the soundtrack is excellent.
