rs2k_mad
This is how smiley ended up after some pissed up w@anker in a BMW decided to pull out on me on a dual carriageway and proceeded to drive off! http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31443.jpg..... was so angry ... however the next day he decided to go int the police station and inform them that I drove away Luckily there was police at the scene who know my car wouldn't even start! Gutted as so much work went into this and it got me through some really tough times in my life where I would be struggling with serious problems and I would go and work on it for hours at night till i was a heap on the floor in the workshop...... however at the end of the day it is just a piece of metal which can be replaced!!!And I have done just that with a mint 1.8 Si! better all round than the old one and thats saying something!http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/31444.jpgIt feels like a rocket after the gutless 1.3, and almost everything worth having on the rs2000 rep is undamaged (ie recaros, flocked dash, sideskirts, my speakers)......so the escort bug goes on....... once a ford man always a ford man. sidrick
I can't imagine anything will happen to the BMW driver if he handed himself in. Nice thread and I look forward to seeing the transformation of the new car.

rs2k_mad
Have finally started, havent got any pics at the moment but may get some tonight, have only done little things like put in my recaros, the new rear bumper I had, some of my flocked interior trim such as the grab handles and the rear lights. Still its all progress The crashed one is stripped down completely now there is nearly nothing of any value left on it, all ready to be stuck on the new one. Sitting at home i have a stainless steel manifold for it, an induction kit, some 130 spec cams and body on the way, once done I think I shall get a power chip.Im going to detail the engine bay with chrome and stainless stell when I can, but I have a red insert for the zetec cam cover and because i love RS2000's more than my own family (ssssh) i have some decals, the same style as the RS ones on the spark plug cover but which state DOHC RS1800 16V. Im going to make my own escort RS1800 lol

nullspace
Glad to see the front of the car did what it's supposed to, and you came away unscathed. Like you said though - It's just metal. I know myself just how much a positive distraction from personal problems a project like this can be. Now you have something new to pour blood, sweat, and elbow grease over. Glad you're not giving up the chase.
