danj8608 Posted August 26, 2013 Author Share Posted August 26, 2013 So since wednesday I've done about 300 miles 200 of those was practically running non turbo... so thinking turbo was at fault it got swapped on sunday. Did it sort it no... so checked all hose connections and the hard pipes no issues there.. so thinking what the hell is it. Turns out it was an issue with the focus inlet, where the erg usually is theres a steel circle insert with the egr plunger set up. I had welded it up so it was blocked off so what happened was the 12psi the turbo ran at the beginning blew the insert out. Now you'd think surely you would of heard the air leak but there was non anyway plate made up bolted on. Hello power !!! Upto now its ran perfect if a little too much fueling but pretty happy. Next weekend ill sort the on boost fuel and actuator and aim for 18psi. Really like this project, i had a pug 306 D-Turbo for about 6 months, was running higher boost and was a little rocket ship. That was making 110 BHP and 166 ft lb so i bet your van will be brilliant with around the 130 mark I loves a nice subtle sleeper too (ignoring the gold alloy lol) What have you got planned for it next? danj8608 Posted September 23, 2013 Author Share Posted September 23, 2013 Was offered a 2003 astra coupe edition 100 and a 2001 saab 93 turbo cabriolet both of which I couldn't insure, Yeah not a lot of people pay much attention to it.. I had the bonnet open at Blackpool ford day the other week and people where walking past the van. Soon as the spotted the boost pipes the they wandered over haha.
