Yep well you knew it was coming, its up for sale. I've not had a "winfall but im spending a fortune on it and to be honest i see myself in a cruiser like a 156, st24 or BMW 323

as you know Bought from Lee a earlier this year, and it didn't come without its problems. since then havent stopped spending money on it. It was fetured in Fast ford and has become a recognised car among fellow ford nuts and has been owned by two very respectfull EVO members that have spared no expense on this car.

Since getting it from Lee i've done the following:

-The wiring has been completely re-done and insulated

-There was a major electrtical fault with the charging system which has now been sorted and now has a new alternator too

-The Throttle bodies have been stripped and re-built with a custom throttle cable and linkage system which solved the sticky throttle problem that i herited when i bought the car.

-The car has been re-tuned to around 191hp although on the road its closer 200 (becuase of the new cooling Mods)

-Red line has been raised to 7850rpm

-Fully integrated a Laptop into the ECU which gives digital read outs of the critical statistics, and live mapping. Laptop will go with the car.

-Had a brand new DECAT created to replace the one on the car that was falling apart.

-Launch control sensor has been installed and ready to roll but not setup (priced at £150 via Engine Advantages)

-All bearings have been replaced

-New Alternator and newish battery

-New fuse box

-New temp sensors and thermostat housing

Vital stats:

191 brake horsepower

148 lbs torque

140mph+ topspeed

15.2 quarter mile on old spec, now easily capable of 14's

0-60 high 6's/low 7's

Idle speed: 1100rpm

Average intake temp 29'c

Average Water temp 64'c

Engine

-RS2000 I4 conversion

-Gas Flowed Head, 3 angle valve seats

-Kent 2001 Cams

-ARP Rod Bolts

-Jenvey 48mm Throttle Bodies

-DTA Management and Loom

-PiperCross One Piece Air Filter

-Red Samcos used throughout

-Heat Wrapped, de-EGR'd manifold

-full Powerflow twin exit system and DECAT

-Bottom End covered 18k, Top End covered about 3600 miles

Transmission

-RS2000 MTX75 Gearbox

-Techniclutch Fast Road Clutch with years left in it.

Body

-Chrome rear Ford badge

-Smoked side repeaters

-Laguna splitter

-Colour Coded estate handle.

-Storm Single Wiper

-Escort Cosworth Wheels, mint except for a slight scuff on one wheel

-Two brand new proxy R's on the front literally done last weekend, rear have 6mm

Suspension

-Modified springs rear

-Koni -40 fronts

-Front Strut Brace

Brakes

-300mm Red dot (i think) cross drilled disks

-cosworth 4 pot calipers

Interior

-Full RS2000 Flow Raven Recaro Interior

-MOMO Jet Steering wheel

-All protected with a Cat1 clifford alarm

Bad points:

-The car still uses the original zetec power steering rack which causes a slight whinning noise when used (sounds a bit like a supercharger), this will be solved buy fitting a RS2k rack. and is something i never got around to fixing

-Arches are rust free, but theres some very small spots on the rear doors and rear hatch. and the paint on some of the larger panels as begun to "pink". But you have to be very anal to let it upset you too much.

Car has 12 months MOT and can be taxed.

im just testing the water, but IT WILL go if someone offers me the right ammount, it'll go on ebay next week

Test drives welcome, you wont be disapointed

MY ARSE lol

beautiful car, was watcing the video of it going up Pod last night, that noise OMG

It the best soundin car i've ever had the pleassure to own. I liked the sound of my mr2, but this is i10x better, the sound of the induction makes everyone who drives it melt, the car on over-run pops and bangs more that a rally car, sounds perfect. Imagine a v8 rally car ;)

cars also booked into power engineering for corner weighting on the 28th januaury.

And Performance Ford have also shown interest in featuring the car

to give you some idea how fast this is, this car will do the quarter in 14.8. thats faster than all the TYPE R's, including the integra

Just wondering Paul you say fast quarter times than the Type Rs.Have you actually had it timed?? Did you actually get 14.8?

The Civic type R is around 197bhp, with 145 lbs torque and weighs 1204 kgs, quarters are normally around 15s.

Compared with a type R, stats are very similar including the 8K rev limit. What does the estate weigh??? i'm sure the Civic is lighter.I know for sure some of the Jap integras are quicker than the Civic and the Jap CTRs are 220bhp, so i doubt very much it is quicker than the type R's.How many of the 'Rs' has been up against?

Not trying to discredit a very individual modded motor, infact i quite like it.Good luck with the sale.

Sad to see it get sold on. Hopefully it'll go to someone who'll have as much enthusiasm :thumb:

Performance Ford simply never got back to us, so I won't bother chasing them again. Their loss!

Someone plz msn me the video this afternoon!! :O

Regarding quarter mile times:

Wasn't your 15.2 with it bogging down on the line? If it was, a good start will definitely knock 0.5sec off, before you think about the new state of tune! I'm sure it could do mid 14s!

Knowing it did 15.2 with room for improvement, it's perfectly valid to say it'll easily do 14s 8)

Oh, and Lee, you need an escort, so.. :O :D

It did a 15.2 on my second time up the strip, and my launch wasn't great the car was also apprantly only 161hp at the time, with 191 and a better launch mid 14's would be what i would aim for. I never raised one in the estate down the strip. But i know from experience racing all the type R's including the DC5 that the civic and accord wont break 15 in standard form and both intergras (2 & 5) are only good for 14.8.

Im not disputing around a track it will be a different story, but in a straight line im afraid they've got nothing on it.

And the rev limit is 7850rpm, so not too far off the civics 8k
