Thanks for all the comments guys, but i can't take much credit for the way the car has come on since it has been at the garage. I'd pretty much taken it as far as i knew how to, and needed someone who knew exactly what they were doing to sort out the problems.

In the time its been there its had a new engine loom, turbo (which i helped to fit), blue silicone hoses, and some other bits and bobs. A lot of fabrication work has been carried out to make things fit right.

Don't get me wrong, i haven't been sitting on my arse waiting for the car to be done, i have been down there evenings and weekends to get stuck in but Ian at the garage is responsible for the transformation under the bonnet and i think he's done an absolutely stunning job. He also mopped the car to get the paint up to scratch so most of the credit must go to him.

As i said, still a few minor jobs to finish off before it goes for an MOT, then its going to Torque of the Devil in a couple of weeks so i'll try and get a vid of it on the rolling road.

It's because of your how-to's on changing the front and rear ends over to the mk5 shape that I've done this, I wouldnt of had the guts to do it otherwise, because you have showed that it can be done. At cost but it can be done.

Im part way through doing the front at the moment, the things im stuggling with are gettng the headlights lined up etc. I'll get there in the end im sure.

Car looks stunning, and the interour change aswell, its awesome mate, seriously well done!

Why didnt you just get a mark 5

As ScORTED says, most of them are rotten and my car is a solid base to work from, but I never intended doing this to the car when I originally bought it over a year and a half ago. It just dawned on me one day " I've got a load of cossie parts in the garage, I wonder if i can make them fit my mk6"

Anyway, thanks for the comments peeps

Dutchkev: yeah the vents are sitting a bit proud but i have a plan to sort it out
