finally.. an update!

still trying to get a crank sprocket because im too lazy to go to a scrappy and pull the engine apart to get one, but ive started on my dashboard and almost finished my centre console. also fitted the front two arches 2day. not too bad considering i wasnt down long!

the back arches im gonna need to seriously modify to fit because of the back doors but nothing i wont find a way around, the fronts arent that bad a fit, just need a little trimming, and the skirts need extended. i'll be widening the bumpers a tad so that the arches flow into them too.

piccies.

couls be doing with a tad more smoothing etc but im thinking of just covering it with some of the boot build fabric. will also mean there will be a 12v port in the back of the car. needs a tad more done and then aligator from here is going to make me a custom gaitor for it.

arches..

stuck on with evostick expanding foam and self tappers. a wee bit of work on these too and they'll look awesome, gonna smooth them into the car too to look a bit more like theyre supposed to be there!

Good progress there mate. Centre console looks to be taking shape nicely and love the s2 arches on the front :thumb: . With regards to the rear arches could you not mod them so the part of the arch that covers the door is cut and fixed to the door with the rest fixed to the body of the car? Or maybe lengthen the skirts even more so they push the rear arch section back far enough to miss the door all together.

now thats an idea, but it will make the wheels sit funny in the arch, kinda like the genuine cossie wings do.

might see if i can cut them and fit the bit onto the door, but will need to sit and plan it out a bit before i touch it.

cant you just fit the rears, then with a fine saw, cut them while they on?

will be awkward (sp? - doesnt look right) as hell due to not being able to see the lines of the doors.

but thinking about it thats probably gonna be the only way to do it..

dunno if this will make sense or if it would even work... obviously easier with bigger arches. but...

where the yellow lines are.. cut the arch..

the blue bit is where its fitted to the door and the red bit is part of the arch but just overlaps the arch when the door's shut.?

makes sense in my head, pmsl.

but really depends on how much of the S2 arch actually goes onto the door

maybe thats there is only a few mm that goes onto the door, in which case you'll need to cut it to the shape of the door.

so..

put the arch on the outside. draw an outline. then open the door, holding the arch in the right place using the line you just drawn, then from the inside outline the edge of the door.

you should then have a line on the inside of the arch. cut that. then you'll have two peices. fix both bits seperately then when you shut the door, it "should" line up

this is all "in theory" of course.

anyone else got an idea how to do it? brute?

so its kinda akward to mark out, think i might try and split it though and fit the bit i cut off onto the back door, wont be easy tho, and theres always the chance of it coming off with the door being opened/shut constantly.
