Danny_Zetec
its worth doing a comparison site then go to the website of the cheapest and try again, i find moneysupermarket and gocompare to be the best comparison sites!

Yeah, try a few of them, but some of them you can only go direct to. Try directline as well Liverpool Victoria are apparently cheap for young drivers as well. My mate's with LV and is paying about £1800 Fully Comp in his own name on a VW Polo 1.4 CL. Edited August 12, 2008 by DJ-Squav
LiamGTR
You mentioned he is on his own, is this why mine are so expensive because i'm not going on my dads or brothers? Maybe I should try persuade them!
Yule
But if you do that you won't build up your no claims (unless you go through direct line) however if you add your parents on to your own policy it does make it a bit cheaper.
Squav
It depends how much your going to use the car. If you go in your dad's or brother's name they have to be the main driver or it's illegal.
Charley
You can always add your dad or brother as a named driver to your policy. That may bring it down for you
JC
You can always add your dad or brother as a named driver to your policy. That may bring it down for you Adding a female driver sometimes works too, no idea why! Tesco were the cheapest i found for a young driver, I would not recomend Endsleigh from the trouble i've had
LiamGTR
So I can add my brother to my insurance for nothing, and then: 1) he can drive my car when he wants2) MY insurance is cheaper!? Result!
Squav
It depends how old your brother is, the older he is the more likely it'll be free. But if he's under 25 you might pay extra. It's always different with every company, so your best to try a quote with and without him on it to see the differences.
LiamGTR
Bugger, he's 22, 23 this next year. So looks like I will be putting my dad on then. I've got abit free time today so i'm going to try them 23 sites you suggested
LiamGTR
Well, I won't be using them 4 sites! The 1st 2 "Experienced problems" as I clicked "Next" The 3rd one i had to be 18 The last one, everytime I entered when i wanted cover to start it was telling me I can't have that date ( and I tried every date possible, even 2010)
