finessescort
what i found best was i went on comparason sites.... took the top 5.... got a quote direct from their site *found it was cheaper... how? i dont know lol* Â then ring them up and get them to compete.... Â bit long winded but saved me a bit of cash
LiamGTR
I think how it was dearer on the price comparison site is because the price compare sites add abit on so they get some profit
hamspeed
EVerytime I fill in a questionaire I put all the stuff in you told me, 3000miles, TPFT etc. and still can't get below £2.5k When I got my Escort (MK5 1.3 3 Door) at 17 I had 8000 miles, TPFT and it was £764 from Endsleigh... Yes there customer service is pretty crap to be mild and I certianly wouldnt recommend them... But in my opinion it was worth it at the time as I was getting quoted upto £4.5k for the same car. Keep shopping you'll get there in the end
dutchkev
it also really does depend on postcode, age etc, the whole provisional licence and lack of driving does put alot of insurance companies off, i used tesco to insure my 1st car (03 reg ford focus 1.6) for £1,400 fully comp on a provisional and they were £600 cheaper than the next person. its all about shopping round etc, and that provisional licence is a big factor. but we all gotta start somewhere

evo_baby
co op let you be a named driver and earn your own no claims so i saw on the telly this morning
LiamGTR
But then can you only use the NCB you earn with the co-op since you earned them as a named driver?
dutchkev
yup, when you take out your OWN policy, same as direct line, earn your NCB with them for a year or 2, take out a policy in your OWN name and use the previously earnt NCB for the discount, then at the end of the 3 years you have 3 years NCB
