Lee_2f2f
Another problem for me. I have just fitted some Vauxhall mudflaps onto the Corsa, needless to say the second one was tricky.... My front tyres were replaced a few months ago thanks to the tracking eating my other tyres... The garage obviously took my wheels off, changed them, and put them back on...... Question is, they have over tightened or something..... the locking wheel nut on the passenger front wheel. Ive tried jumping on it, hammering it, putting all my weight on it, managed to slice my finger open, and its not moved an inch!!!! I need to know what other ways I can try, to get this nut loose, is there a way of doing it, or will the garage loosen it if I take it in and say "I cant get this bolt off you put it back on too tight" thanks in advance. mykez69
trouble with garages they use them silly air tools to tighten things up you got a breaker bar? if not, maybe a steal pole to put on ratchet to give you more leverage a very heavy mallet would work, not hitting hard, just tapping it, using the weight of the mallet rather than using full force in your arms to wack the ratchet
hicksy
Youve got to be careful tho, you dont want to put so much effort behind it.Locking wheel nuts break and round off eaisily, your probably best getting a garage to do it
geordie_aaron
you used a breaker bar opposed to the wheel brace? more leverage.... heat it up.... take to garage.
dutchkev
id take it back to the garage and let them sort it rather than risk rouding off the nut and having it smashed off!
Lee_2f2f
Well now you lot say it, looking at the Key, I think I have rounded it a little from whacking it and jumping on it, still fits perfect though, Trip to the garage on saturday me thinks..... Scort_CVH
Mate take it to the garage the impact wrech will take it off in seconds as the force is direct to it. Edited April 17, 2009 by Scort_CVH
mar_k
get them to check the wheel for buckles as over tightening an alloy usualy results in a buckled wheel
