going to use one of those fancy layered metal head gaskets as you can buy them differant thicknesses as i can lower the compression with it.my mate used one on his cossy as he was running alot of boost so needed to lower the compression even more.

  • 2 weeks later...
finally got round to doing something. stripped the turbo of the series one engine and sorted what im going to do.that nice new manifold i bought, it,s in for the chop.going to put a standard bonnet back on and leave the front bumper standard as well. the whole point of this car was to have it looking like a standard car but for the wheels. sort of got carried away, so going to stick to the plan.pics in a couple of days

I can't decide if that deserves a "booo" or a "yeyyy"

I originally liked the idea of a standard looking car on big wheels, but then I liked what you were doing with it, too... now I can't decide what I want!

All I do know is I'm looking forward to another update! Going off everything else you've done, personal tastes aside, it's gonna be top notch work!!!

the turbo will sit of to the right hand side of the engine. still abit of fabbing to do but all will become clear, i hope.

i am waiting to strip the body down for blasting, so i may aswell get the engine bits sorted while i am waiting.

the template is were the turbo bolts on, this locates the turbo were the old airbox used to be.bit out of the norm but definately

diffarent.

will take it to work tomorrow so i can tig weld it togther.the turbo mounting flange will be lazor cut and then weded on.

more at weekend. :drunk:
