stuey650 Posted August 19, 2010 Share Posted August 19, 2010 Just curious really, I know there's alot of people on this site that no longer own an escort but still frequent it on a regular basis. With comments such as "the most unethusiast enthusiasts site" and general recommendations in mechanical section often saying not to do engine transplants etc but instead just save for a quicker/newer car I just wonder how many of us here no longer own an escort? I'm guessing quite a proportion don't own one now and don't have rose tinted shades on believe the escort to be a car that its quite simply not, hence the reality check a number of newbies get when they come on asking for miracles but with no budget. Anyway for me its been 2 years since I sold my last one. I still come on here to pass time at lunchtime, there's always an amusing topic to read or someone spitting the dummy out. Will I ever own another escort...prob not, possibly another RS2K if the right one came along on my doorstep for the right price, otherwise onwards and upwards. I will own one again, not for a few years though, once we are settled in Belgium & finished the building work I will own either a MK4 XR3i and restore it to its original form or a MK5 RS. I deffo have the space to have one as well as my current cars, but its just finding the time, otherwise I would have one alot sooner. KNITERIDER Posted August 19, 2010 Share Posted August 19, 2010 Was an ok cheap car 5 years back. Now there is so much more choice and better spec cars for the same money and lower insurance. I have one but it won't see the road for at least a few months yet. I'm building it for track use, why? Because it was cheap and if I was to crash it I wouldn't cry over it. If it was a better car I would. I'm here because I have friend here, a little bit of helpfull knowledge and enjoy the odd thread, granted evo is getting quieter and quieter on the interesting threads as of late.
