massivewangers
He's had the slot for a long long time now. Not seen him on passionford lately. I believe the car had been repainted after having all the chassis work done too. Never did understand why he had all the body done and then all the fab work. Would be interesting to see if it ever did get finished. Not really an Escort now though!

mexico_16v
What an epic waste of money. I understand (I think) of not just buying a 550bhp car and creating one yourself, but he isn't is he? As far i can make out he is just towing it around the country getting everyone else to do it.. I think it's going to be a chequebook car when it's done. Fair enough you haven't got the fab skills and paint skills but still....... Fair enough you haven't got the fab skills and paint skills but still....... Well that's just it, it's been 5 years, and IIRC it was in to 5 figures ages ago, and look where it is now.... Give it another couple of years, and when(if) it's finished, it'll be a car that's as fast as a modded Evo, handles worse than a modded Scoob, looks like an Escort and cost circa 30-40k I appreciate folk aiming for goals and pushing the limits, but this is a fail. Full stop. Edited March 10, 2011 by sidrick

[OFFTOPIC] Found in Mike's thread on PF - About as much escort as THIS is still a Civic. Lucky bloke to be Canadian, in Britain it would be Cat B straight away. But I have to admit that it must be one of the most interesting daily drives I've ever seen [/OFFTOPIC] Edited March 10, 2011 by DaweV6

ST170 Dan
i still like it as a project, regardless of its cost and whos done what.
Stu
The thing that I would be concerned about with a project like this is it seems fabricators have been used rather than/without engineers.. which doesn't always lead to the best result! Typically fabricators can make things that look pretty, but without an engineer to design something that works and is reliable the result can be a potential minefield!
