Naylor2006
What was the damage to get all of those parts done? Not actually sure man, the prices I paid was for new calipers, discs and pads also so the actual prices of the powdercoating process isn't know to me. SLEEMAN can tell you as he did it. SLEEMAN
Didn't fancy masking off all the important bits then? all the parts were masked off especially the rocker cover!! the pistons and rubbers were all masked, and so was the threads on the strut brace only the nuts and the bit in the middle were powdercoated! plus for an escort the closest threads where the colour is won't get used! the calipers sliders were masked and they have been regreased so it keeps movement freely. and i have pressured the pistons a bit and they move freely in and out! everything gets double checked and thoroughly cleaned! What about the cam cover where the sealing top-hats sit that the bolts go through? Don't look masked off... or the mounting faces for the caliper bolts?.. SLEEMAN
well obviously not the top hats, but the top hats do fit back in the holes. i have done several cam covers like that and not had a problem at all no complaints etc and the mounting faces have minimal powdercoat on them so they are still flat and again no problems at all with mounting them, i just advise my customers to use thread lock in the caliper bolts, and usually ford provide new bolts with thread lock and when they bolted correctly no problems at all. all bolt hole are double checked for clearance, and any threaded parts have bolts to protect the threads including the brake hose etc so its a clean tight seal. and yes sidrick i do provide a powdercoating service would you like some done?? Yeh, will be getting chrome battery cover, reservoirs and alike, the power steering and coolant one is £199! For the record I dont think it will be too blue under there, theres plenty of other bits that wont be blue. We'll all find out in the new year anyways.
