Got to say that the guy posts on another forum im on and doesnt even go into personal things and its just about what ever car he has and is doing. Nor does he get any abuse from the other forum, This section should be about cars above all and the moderators should delete anything not directly related to cars.

Steve carry on with what your doing with what ever car you have just lay off the personal circumstances.

thank you dan

I will not answer the questions about my living situation as thats mine and my families business.

With regard to questions about the car, yes its a work horse but that doesnt mean it cant at least be a nice place to be given that I spend alot of time in it. Also how does putting a small sub and amp and leather seats class as chaving it up?

The reason I would like the car to look smarter is I live in quite a posh area and having a really scruffy car stands out more than a lairy paint job (case in point my neighbour has electric orange focus st and my black mondeo looks more out of place when next to them are 2 black fords, 1 mondeo tit x other galaxy both on private plates, then golf tdi and volvo V70, then merc b class and jag XF on private plate etc) and we have already had complaints to the council about use of our property for car repairs and dismantling but its fine as they are all ours and no payment is taken when we did family friends

Also till my situation changes and the ST is done I will be attending shows as part of my club and thought my car should look a bit smarter for them

I hate it when neighbours moan about rubbish like sky dishes or someones wall isn't the right colour but I think I can sympathise with the car comlaint though slightly, you've got about 19 cars in bits on your drive haven't you?

Surely your tweaking the car for you and not just to fit in? Sh it, my car stands out like a sore thumb out ere in the country and I'm a shift worker so have to start it and drive out the village at all hours of the clock, and it's worse now, i sold my old escort to a neighbour so there's two of us now.

Dunno why I'm moaning, I love reading stevmo's topics, id love to have them all in a book.

I made a dick of my self on my progress topic, it's all part of it though and moving on and not doing it again, so Steve stop banging on about the personal stuff.

I'm not being funny, if anyone slashed my tyres and windscreen, i'd tear them a new one!

It's in the back of the big yellow truck outside lol. They can slash my rear ones, they leak anyway, but i'm honestly scared to park the cnut anywhere else, i'd be so upset if it got damaged.

and back on topic,

A friend of mine who has a more modified tddi has also sourced a few bits for me.

So as well as his old suspension, leather door cards and a spare wheel he got off a mutual friend he's also got me a repacement rear ash tray as mine was smashed and a facelift GEM. this will add few features like hazard light flash on unlock, lane change indicators, rear wiper turns on when you go in reverse and fronts are on etc

handy having a friend who knows these cars in and out.

His currently has:

BC racing coilovers

fully polybushed

Brembo brakes all round

Large FMIC

K&N panel filter

resonator bypass

tdci maf to turbo pipe (better than tddi one)

EGR blank off

de cat

straight through exhaust

hybrid turbo

custom remap

and few other bits and his being a ghia x has all the toys too

just clocked over 150K and is due a service soon. luckily this uses the same oil that I got several bottles off for the ST so saves me buying more now. just need oil and fuel filters.

Also need to replace both drive shafts as there is play in o/side inner cv joint and horrid vobration under acceleration and the outer cv gaitor split on the n/side and all the grease came out. I spotted it when I did the brakes but the CV is already damaged and driveshafts are £35 each with 2 year warranty for these.

I'll also be doing the track rod ends sometime around end april as my friend has 2 brand new ones I can have for free.

And tomorrow with fingers crossed the mk1 should run properly and stop hunting. Changed IM gasket and found naff all wrong with it but decided to add a step to the haynes process to make access easier and removed fuel rail as its only held on by 3 short bolts and the fuel lines are already disconnected.

Found the seal between the injectors and IM are knackered and split so got 4 new ones from ford so once thats in tomorrow and TB back on, air intake back on and battery fitted it should run properly and I can do wishbones, drop links, track rod ends (gaitors are split) and MOT it. good wash, wax and stick it up for sale with a years MOT :)
