This has even been checked with VOSA across on another site STdriveRS I use. "Thank you for your email enquiry dated 22nd February 2012, concerning MOT tests. The check for a CAT only applies to petrol engined vehicles which qualify for a full CAT test. There will be an update to the Inspection Manual in Spring which will clarify this. stevmo3691 Posted March 18, 2012 Author Share Posted March 18, 2012 member on my site is an MOT tester and has confirmed that diesel cars in the UK do not require a cat to be fitted, only petrol cars which will be both a visual inspection of it being there and the emissions test. I will do work on my ST at some stage but my time is being used with working on parents cars, missus car, job hunting and my part time job. I like to hear other peoples opinions from time to time and there are a few people on heres comments I actually have no objection to whether they are positive or negative but as I have said before, the best way to say on a forum you dont like something is say thats not to my taste or not what I would have done. its called being diplomatic. Yes this is my work car diesel mondeo, but theres no reason daily drive has to be rubbish. I haven't been hurling insults, spoke my mind maybe, stated the obvious likely, gave note to the thoughts that have passed through others minds definitely. getting angry enough to bother delivering insults via a pc monitor seems pointless imo, IF you find yourself feeling insulted then the likely reason is you also deep down believe there is reason too feel insulted.... in which case sort ya own guilt complex out cos my minds at peace for example, its not a insult when I say he's "still on the tit", its a matter of fact statement..... he lives at his mums, doesnt pay for the roof over his own head (regardless of some pittance "keep" deal he may or may not make with his parents), He cries poverty and financial difficulties yet has 2 (soon likely to be 3) self fecked motors on his (MUMS) drive with various abundances of tack hanging off them and always seems to have time to be online posting up carbon copy threads which if he was serious about being "poverty stricken" is time he should be using to get a job, get his own place and prise his sucker off his mums pucker. If there was a dictionary entry for "being on the tit", there would be a picture of SteveO giving the two thumbs up next to it. In fact most of the time trying to advise him and having it thrown back in your face in his a-typical "I know better than you do" fashion is by far more insulting to those more experienced and knowledgeable than him than any intended insult that could be lavished upon him by others.
