theresa
Well, the local council decided again, not to bother gritting some of the busier 'little' roads On the way to work this morning and I saw the road was icy, so I didn't brake, had the car in second gear, going dead slow, as the road has a slope and a bad bend and I still fcuking lost it. I was heading for a car, so managed to steer away from that, then started sliding towards a wall on the drivers side, so managed to get away from that as well. Started sliding towards a bad kerb and wall, so tried steering down a one way street, the wrong way, to keep away from the kerb, but I hit it. I hit it fcuking hard as well and then slid away from it and parked up, facing the wrong way down the one way street. The wheel is bent under the car a bit and pushed back into the arch and could't drive it, so had to get a recovery truck to take me up to work. Before I crashed, one man was still at the scene, waiting for recovery, after wiping out the driver's side of his Chrysler, his was totally fcuked - loads of damage, as he hit the wall, kerb and lampost. While I was on the phone to a local recovery yard, a mk3 Astra went straight up the kerb, but suffered no damage. Then a Honda Civic lost control, managed to get round the bend, but hit a Focus head on. Loads of people also had lucky escapes and I couldn't believe all these crashes happening front of me. This was obviously a road that should have been gritted and wasn't and is also a 'school run' road, so lucky there were no kids around, as there was no where safe to stand. Had a look at the damage to mine and it's not looking good so far. The wheel has gone right back against the wing, which has taken the paint of the bottom of the wing and creased it.That's also pushed my sideskirt off and the sideskirt is damaged underneath, due to going over the kerb. The bottom arm was nearly bent in half, so I've replaced that, to try and straighten it all out a bit, but it's still fcked. Can't drive it at the moment, as the steering is all over the place.Hopefully, might get time and put a strut on, see what that does and then a hub and then hopefully, it might be ok.Chassis leg is a little bit damaged, but that's from where the driveshaft was pushed against it. Well fcuking p*ssed off
theresa
This is the road I slid down Where the Escort is, is where I was trying to go, but ended up going down the one way street. This is the wall, lamp post and kerb I was trying to avoid The Honda, just after bouncing back from hitting the Focus The damaged wheel (sorry Basskiddanny) The wheel pushed into the arch I forgot to take a photo of the bottom arm, but I will when I get it out of the car, as the car's up in work at the moment. plumber60
i did a similar thing, you should at the very least remove anc check the bottom of the hub as this tapered when i did mine and went unnoticed until the wishbone and driveshaft popped! luckily while parking and not going round a bend. I hope you can get her fixed, lucky escape really
