unless your prepared to pay out shocking money for the specially treated stuff then dont bother as all the other options involving it ultimatly loose there clearness and turn a sick yellow which inturn allows the vinyl to retain heat and the easy remove glue to heat bond to the paintwork (I mean it'll pull lacquer off it gets that bad)

cheers, don't suppose you have any more info on that?

saw a cossie at ford fair that had had it done

and looked fine....

aslong as you specify that you want the specifically treated clear stuff as its designed to resist the sun "yellowing" reaction from any reputable vinyl related outlet you should be right, but like I said its more expensive than the standard clear stuff thats available from just about everywhere including places like B&Q.

if your really hoping to keep your costs down you could ask Karl on ere and see if he can sort something for ya, failing that the materials are available from any supplier of Signs & advertising materials as the clear treated stuff is used in many fashions.....from road signs to semi transparant window advertisements :thumb:

ps... Im not spouting random shite ere btw, I used to make advertising signs for my godfathers multiple dry-cleaning shops all over the North-West :thumb: :thumb:

its a shame they never stay that clean :( what made you choose the 2ltr then?

lol, it amazed me how much filth has got on the rear beam and it aint done that miles since its refurb!

decided on a 2.0ltr as tbh its cheap and give me a little more power and hopefully be reliable. Not keen on having a high mileage one rebuilt, and the RS2k route seemed a lot of hassle. Hopefully getting a garage near me to build and fit it, replacing the clutch and other bits and pieces whilst its out.

Still need to decide what i'm doing with my 1.6 as its too good to scrap as only done 50k with a cambelt change

nice job there mate!

and thats stoos old motor isnt it ?

cheers!

Yeah its a new engine that has never been used, wasn't keen on swapping for a higher mileage engine, so went for a lower mileage one!

Hopefully Stoo will be able to afford a hair cut next month
