Cars looking good mate. come a long way. if its easier stay with the mk5 until after FF and then go to mk6 after, just to try and relieve some of the work load.

 

will get an update done tonight when i get home, spending the day on it again.

 

this project hasnt cost alot of money but the hours ive put in are mind numbing.

well, all is not so good.

 

not so good things..

old engine and turbo is out (and sold) and new one is in, but i cant get my new turbo until tuesday and the engines not wired up/plumbed in yet.

my back window is smashed.. so i need to fit another bonded window.

engine bay is all cleaned up and wiring hidden, but now im missing my front wiper mechanism.

bodywork still needs work.

still need to cut vents into bonnet.

need to finish my exhaust.

i still need to paint the motor, get it mot'd, tracking done and set up before sunday.

 

 

good bits..

car is now a rolling shell, with suspension and brakes on.

new cossie fuel pump fitted

back end is a mk6 again.

it looks like a car again, so given a wee bit of motivation.

im getting some help over next few days to sort bodywork.

 

so all in all, its gonna be VERY tight trying to make Ford Fair in my own motor - but in saying that if i cant bring this i will bring the mrs' Ka and park in the car park, i wont be missing it.

i honestly reckon its doable as long as everything goes to plan from now on, its pretty close to being done, i just need to spend another few solid days on her and she'll be ready to MOT and get set up.

 

the one garage is doing the MOT'ing, tracking and setting up so will be done in a few hours.

 

im hopeful, keep your fingers crossed guys.

i was reading the very 1st page of the thread when you started it and you quoted yourself a month to get it all done but in all fairness youve done a hell of a lot since then

staying silver mate, with anthracite wheels and morrettes, and aye, painting it myself lol.

 

aye kev a month LOL. bit optimistic, but alots changed in the last 6 months.

ffs scoop, took a minute to realise the name change.

 

aye in for MOT/setting up on wednesday and hopefully start painting thursday.

 

tonights work..

 

bootlid done, its not perfect but its as close as im gonna get it. primered to show any imperfections so still needs a bit of sanding.

engine half wired up/plumbed in, waiting for my new turbo 2moro.

plans for 2moro, rear window back in and finish the skirt and arch that needs work.

bond in vents and smooth them in.

refit carpet and start work on dashboard.

fit turbo and HOPEFULLY get her up and down the street a few times.
