bronze4door
well i have had a bit of an un wanted modification in the form of a big blue stripe down the side of my car http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w267/bronze4door/Photo0303.jpghttp://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w267/bronze4door/Photo0304.jpg it doesnt look as bad in the pictures as it does on the flesh this was done this morning when it was sat outside my house the car that did this was seen parked up and leaving at half ten then with a bit of investication it was found out who was driving which was my freinds hwo lives on my roads uncle so they are gonna pay for it to be repaired or to go through the insurance which would rather not happen as it would probably be written off i am off to get a quote tomorrow from the fella that painted the mk1 but the big question is what would be easier to repair the panel with bog or to replace the panel with a new one Edited November 6, 2011 by bronze4door

JC
ouch that's bad rust! Depends how much you love your car, and how much to repair. Even if you buy another, you tend to inherit problems!

bronze4door
what did you decide to do about the rear arch? prob best to cut out and stick new one in imo, looks like the window rubber is kinked by it too my friend has got a 3 door gti that has had a wing and bumper removed for a van and he got it for the engine and the car is mint so i am gonna get the rear quater cut off it for mine sounds like a stupid thing to do to an escort to spend money on putting it right but i want to do it as i want to start using the car for spirnts and hillclimbs and if it looks good and is well prepered then it will give off a good impression of me and what i can do
heavyrightfoot
10 out of 10 for commitment with this car mate, as most people including myself would have scrapped it when it needed the front end
bronze4door
10 out of 10 for commitment with this car mate, as most people including myself would have scrapped it when it needed the front end its more stupidity i think, i got rid of a low milage V reg escort for this one, i had a super clean low milage X reg which i got rid of and kept the this one, i'll of had it 3 years in may which is the longest i've ever had a car other than my mk1 as i usually have it for less than twelve months and i've killed it i think with this car i have just run it into the ground and driven it really hard
