bronze4door
started on this again dropped all teh fluids and started removing parts ready to whip the engine out for the 2.0l also fitted my morrettes after finally painting them up http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w267/bronze4door/CIMG2116.jpghttp://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w267/bronze4door/CIMG2118.jpg had a chat with the lads a GS escorts today and they mande the suggestion of running the 2.0l on megajolt ignition and a set of bike carbs but unsure of this coz of the price of doing it
Trig
I think if you ran carbs then you could leave the standard ignition on, if it was bike throttlebodies then that would need a change of management.
ScORTED
i doubt you'd be able to stay street legal on carbs
bronze4door
i dont think i could afford to do it yet and a few people have said it will drink fuel with bike carbs, also the carbs may need constant playing with if they go out of balance i think i will just stick to keeping it standard till the thirst for more power bites again
Jordan99940
come on start stripping down the 2.0 block and changing the parts over, i want to see this car at ford fair as its always the one i've been competing with my self because of the similarities and if mines not working by then i want to see this working with the 2.0 atleast. have you already got a 1.8 (that you can access easily) for the water pump oil pump and oil pick up and sump? or is it still in the car? bronze4door
i have got a spare 1800 out of the gti i broke but the engine in the car has already had the sump taken off it and has a new water pump on it as it was replaced not long before i crashed it it should be at ford fair as that is my target to get it done by and it will probably be doing quite a few track sessions too also i am getting bored of the estate so that is also spuring me on to repair this

Jordan99940
just remember when you put the 2.0 in your car it needs to look like the 1.8 one as in where the alternator goes and for some reason I had to use a 1.8 cambelt (might be because of my 1.8 head though as i was ever so confused by this)
