the thing is i dont know what is best money wise to do at the minute as i can swap my insurance back to my estate surrender the tax on this and freshen up my 2.0l and drop that in this

 

or my other option is stick as set of shells in this hope it works then i can sell the estate dont have the cost of swapping the insurance over and get my 2.0l ready to drop in so its ready and can be done in a short period of time

 

the main problem is i need a car to get to uni

 

does anyone know how much a set of shells are for an 1800 zetec

started on this again dropped all teh fluids and started removing parts ready to whip the engine out for the 2.0l

 

also fitted my morrettes after finally painting them up

had a chat with the lads a GS escorts today and they mande the suggestion of running the 2.0l on megajolt ignition and a set of bike carbs but unsure of this coz of the price of doing it

i dont think i could afford to do it yet and a few people have said it will drink fuel with bike carbs, also the carbs may need constant playing with if they go out of balance

 

i think i will just stick to keeping it standard till the thirst for more power bites again

come on start stripping down the 2.0 block and changing the parts over, i want to see this car at ford fair as its always the one i've been competing with my self because of the similarities and if mines not working by then i want to see this working with the 2.0 atleast.

 

have you already got a 1.8 (that you can access easily) for the water pump oil pump and oil pick up and sump? or is it still in the car?

i have got a spare 1800 out of the gti i broke but the engine in the car has already had the sump taken off it and has a new water pump on it as it was replaced not long before i crashed it

 

it should be at ford fair as that is my target to get it done by and it will probably be doing quite a few track sessions too

 

also i am getting bored of the estate so that is also spuring me on to repair this
