JC
welcome to my world, I had an accident, non fault, didn't cost the insurance a penny yet have to declare it
Craig855S
They said that? If its a non fault accident and your no claims hasnt decreased then your risk rating shouldnt go up. Your premium will go up due to a focus being a more valuable car though
PeeWee
just phoned up to change my insurance from my wrote off escort to a focus ... i'm getting charged because a 3rd party wrote my car off as its classed as a claim on my insurance ... how can this be right ????.... rant over Has the claim gone through, is it all done & dusted paperwork and claim wise?Until it is insurance company's will do this but repay it when the claim is settled in your favour.I had an accident due to someone hitting the side of my car years ago, my premium rose until the whole lot was sorted regardless of the third party fully admitting fault. They honoured the money they took from me by reducing my next insurance to repay the money they took.
geordie_aaron
as peewee says, EVERY claim is classed as 'at fault' on both ends until done with
shawdreamer
welcome to my world, I had an accident, non fault, didn't cost the insurance a penny yet have to declare it Your world? YOUR WORLD?? My 03 focus ST was wrote off after I hit a unattended diesel spill from a previous accident and even after my insurance sought and won payment from the freight company who were responsible for the spill that caused me to roll three times down a embankment and into a cow field....my premium still went up, that was even after getting a letter from the freight company apologizing and my insurance calling and telling me that they had excepted responsibility and agreed to pay all damages and any possible injury treatment costs (which there was none of....I kicked the door open and climbed out of my now upside down destroyed focus without even a scratch) and then 4yrs later my recently got rid of new shape Astra was heavily side swiped by a lorry (which ironically was owned by a freight company alongside the one that killed my focus) tearing every panel right the way down the passenger side of my Astra and causing over 2.5k of damage, again the half asleep red eyed long distance lorry driver admitted fault entirely..... which again my insurance happily excepted........ then promptly up'd my premium again. I dont dare actually have a accident were its my fault.......they'd probably demand I turn over three of my limbs as compensation for their trouble. meekstaaa
I've just had this too, Lorry hit side of my car on roundabout. (deffo not my fault) I called insurance told them. that guy phoned them told him bullshite story and insurance said it was 50/50. I said i'd only claim if he does, he didn't (Not a penny issued) They closed the case 6 months later. When i had to renew this year i was told no need to declare it. But when i phoned them the looked it up and said cos its a 'claim' although nothing was done, only 2 phone calls taken. they had to put it on my file. It Fcuking upped my insurance by £15 a month! They didn't do anything, i didn't do anything and i got screwed!
