Cheers mate. I just copied what I had seen someone else do, although they had made one out of stainless, This is just perspex.

Well here's the brakes all painted up. Had to sand blast them 3 times. 1st time they rusted in the garage because I never sprayed them with wd40 (other maintenance spray's available from all good diy stores!) so I did them again, this time, due to looking after the boy (only just 6 weeks old) left them over night to do the next day. :vangry: :censored: Started rusting already.... 1 night....Gimme a break! :nutter: Anyway did them again and here they are. Sorry for the crap pic but it was late when I took it, bit of a rush job!

Also over the weekend I removed the driver side doors, prepped and sprayed the inside's. Just a bit of rubbing down, masking up e.t.c I never thought it would take so long! No pics yet im affraid but hoping for a long weekend soon to really start getting more of this together.

After taking today and tomorrow off work I thought I'd get a massive load done on the car. Typical british weather however declared otherwise and decided to p1ss down ALL DAY sat and sun! B0LL0X! Oh well, I decided to do sumit today to make it worthwhile taking couple o days off. here's what happened.

1st off I decided to fit my filler cap kit. In the end it turned out to be a right royal pain in the arse. Im not sure if I like how the top part looks. Previously the outer shape was nice and round. Now Ive got the fitting kit in there, where the top part follows the curve of the arch its cut out the top section. Picture makes more sense! Wasnt expecting it to come out like this but thats the way it is. If I really dont like it when its done then I'll remedy it at a later date.

Then came the 'problem solving' from what was described on the 1st page of the write up. The rear arch didnt meet up as you follow the line of the door due to fitting both parts seperatly, Doh! A wee bit of my favourate stuff :innocent:

And all primed up too. I also fibreglassed and filled from the rear arch lip back to the original car's arch. Just to neaten it up and ensure no crap gets into nooks and crannies.

Roll on for another day of graft tomorrow.

Comments always welcome.

Cheers guys. Spent another day session on the car today. Took off the driver side doors again, this time to prep and prime the outside. Also while they were off thought I'd prep and prime the door shuts and both F and R wings. Took bloody ages but now its done its starting to look nice

Just a couple of pics of the doors after being rubbed down.

looking good mate so how long do you think before it sees paint ? :D

Well, If it wasnt for the crap weather over the weekend I would have one full side, front and rear in primer. Next up is priming the driver side doors which are all prepped and ready to go. Then all the fun starts again on the passenger side. Although the front wing is done and the rear kit is bonded on already. From what ive learnt doing this side it should be considerably quicker to do. X(

Im really trying to pull my finger out with this to get it complete this year. No date yet but as soon as I can really.

Where did you get the fuel filler bit from, how's the kit fixed to the car?

Its a flush fit filler cap from Demon Tweeks catalogue. Bloody expensive for what it is but some overtime paid for it a while ago so didnt matter too much. In theory you should just remove the fuel flap and cap. Then the outer moulding fits in place with the hole lining up with the filler neck. Then the cap itself is fixed in place with about 8 screws. I dont know if its because i moulded around the outside of mine( To shape into the arch) but it didnt fit what would call flush! :censored: Once lined up so the hole meets the filler, I used a couple of screws and a sh1tload of fibreglass behind the moulded piece. The screws once tightened squished out the fibreglass and then removed once gone off. Then just smoothed and shaped into the arch :thumb:

Here's the kit.

Ok looks good tho, how did you fit the arch extension?

The arch is bonded on using a silicone type glue in a tube ( use with a mastic gun). I'll get the name of it nxt time I'm down the garage! 1st offer up the arch and tape into place and once lined up use a few screws to fix into place. If not happy then just re-position. Sand down areas where the glue will sit, a quickrough up with sand paper just to give the glue a good key to stick too. Smother the edges 2be stuck with the glue and offer up to the car. Fix into place using the screws/holes you used earlier to line it all up. Once dried, remove the screws, fill holes and blend into your current bodywork. Then sit back with a beer and feel pleased with your mornings work. :drunk:

Sorry for the couple bits of bad grammer/punctuation, when i delete a word and try to retype it, it deletes whatevers in front of it!!! bloody settings :vangry:
