Getting that BLU HID Look

I cant help it, I love that blue headlight tint, Ive tried PIAA extreme plus bulbs (£40 a pair!) and yes there are extreme white and they have a blue coating on the bulb but you dont get anywhere near that HID look.

Maybe I just have to give up as I have Morette's and im pretty sure HIDS are illegal in these and I really cba to swap stuff out before MOT's plus I dont want to get stopped for illegal lights.

Does anyone know how to get that lush blu tint without HIDS?

Many thanks

i've been running 6000k hids for ages and mine went through mot with no worries

wanna wager they wont next time?

OP: use some off-the-shelf blue ice bulbs from Halfords/Motorworld/Ebay.

Their often not UK approved and only labelled up "for showroom use" but aslong as you dont get the silly wattage ones like most chavs bainlessly do for their Corsa's then you should get an nice tinged blue white light that wont over power the cars lense refractors and dazzle other drivers (Like HID's DO and silly wattage ones DO)

i know that there are some that the company ULTRA produce some decent h4 xenon blue look bulbs i used them in my escort for when i had angel eyes, looked quite alright actually not totally blue but just the right blue to be legal !

Its worthy of note that technically any bulbs that are artificially tinted to produce anything but white or near white colour in headlights is looked at as a legfal grey area in this country (hence why there usually marked as "show use only").

the trick is not to be a tool and use ones so badly tinted or overly powerful that you might aswell tattoo "Ive got the intellectual properties of a grapefruit, please nick me" across your forehead for every rozzer to see and every other motorist to despise you for.

How often do you look at your car from the front at night??????

I use standard wattage bulbs in my volvo but they have a blue coating on which takes the yellow out of the light so the road infront of me is lit up in bright white instead of yellow, but I dont want blue light emitting, nor do i like HIDs (sort of pretty but bloody dangerous even the OEM ones)

Some interesting points, just wanna make it clear that I dont actually want HID's but I do like the blu glow, as far as I can tell in order to achieve you need some 8000k HIDs

Im with everyone else, I cant fking stand the glare from them, why is it ok to fit them as stock when they still hurt like hell?

Looks the bid ness!

Why two different types? And is that a HID conversion? I am considering it, ill take alot of hate but sometimes hate is healthy.

yep hid kit, i bought it with 6k bulbs but they are too blue for me, and read and seen that 5k is the best compromise between colour and light output,so bought some 5k.

but if you do buy, make sure the bulb has the metal tab that ove to give hi/lo beam as they give a much better cut off than the bulbs where the actual bulb moves.
