Bumper) fcukin terrible2nd that lol.. cheers for the comments guys.. the ford bug is biting again Strange how ppl want to see it skirted, yet it grabbed eyes of the boy racers the other night .. Its got something.. I think its the sharp contrasting clean lines u dont get with colour coded plastics making it stand out Or they thought look at grandad!!! Roll on the 2 litre... Hezz
How is the new suspension feeling? still crash or normalish? Would you go lower?
scottybo
How is the new suspension feeling? still crash or normalish? Would you go lower? any lower than 40mm and the wheels start to disappear behind the arches on an escort n it looks a bit silly i think, i personally have enough problems with speed bumps and the like already so going any lower would be awful (although my fez was down 60mm quite happily) remembering this is marks family car btw boys
redmex
How is the new suspension feeling? still crash or normalish? Would you go lower? Crashing - bottoming out was when i had wrong kit supplied making the rear coil bound The next suspension kit I bought made by "supersport" is worth every penny @ £220 delivered.. Ride is sharper and it drives really tight having naf all roll on corners etc Scott bo has driven it and commented how sharp it turns so definitely worth doing. I wouldnt go lower for reasons Scott said and the front bushes wouldnt like it lower too Sparkie
Hezz
Don't suppose you could measure the distance from wheel to arch front + back could you? I'm guessing the rs2k rear beam dropped it another 15mm too?
scottybo
actually dude on the suspension topic, do you ever get any scrubbage at all?if i hit a corner real hard the wheels rubs the arch on the outside, right pain in the backside, maybe its the 205 tyres but i wouldnt have thought it would make THAT much difference

I'm guessing the rs2k rear beam dropped it another 15mm too? These photo's are deceptive as seen in earlier posts the wheels normally look much closer to the arches The measurements clarify its height front http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30827.jpg back http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30828.jpg

redmex
how easy was the.disced beam conversin? ive got.my eye on a complete rear beam u see. thought it might be easier than my.focus plan Hello mate On a scale of 1 to 10 ummmmm.... 4 to 5 You will want the donor axle with its brake pipe flexi' hoses. When you fit the hoses to the mk6 body you will need some washers as the mk6 body holes are to big for mk5 hoses to mount. Nothing hard about it, just a strait axle swap as such.Inside car..Remove handbrake cable from h-brake lever in the car (done by lifting out plastic trim from center consul and undoing one 10mm spanner sized adjuster nut), moving under the carlower the heat shield that sits above the center silencer (drag old cable out), cut old cable to save time on hubs with cable shears if you hav some!, remove brake pipe flexi's from car @ body end and cap off temporary at body stopping fluid running from car pipes.Remove Bottom shock bolts from beam(One each side),lower axle to floor and remove the four bolts holding the front mounts to the body ... OLD axle rolls out! Basically to fit new .. Roll new axle under car, fit to body and shocks. Feed new brake cable into position, then connect to hubs 1st (Simply hook in place) then connect cable at front to h-brake lever and adjust from in car to 1-2 clicks.. (no more as the new cable will soon stretch). Lastly connect brake pipes and bleed.. I think that was it as such.. An afternoon job
