redmex
Update on Front brakes.. Ive been prepping ready for fitting the new brake bits and had a idea how to fit the flexi's without peeling the old bracket from the escort pipes.. A trip round the local breakers armed with tape measure and a open mind I found these on a Ka.... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29973.jpg looks promising but it needed that bolt removed, so I sat it in a good fitting tube.. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29974.jpg I stood the tube upright on the floor and hit the nut hard wiv big hammer... then this happend http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29975.jpg which means it can now bolt it on the front strut like the old bracket did and the mondy hose will clip strait in So while on a roll I found these brackets on a Mk1 Focus, I will tell more when I get time to tweak them but you can see where im going on this http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29976.jpg Just need more time .... redmex
Moving along.. Today the sun was shining and woman was going out .. This could only mean one thing...... car time! I arranged for a second man to help bleed the brakes, I had all the bits so this is how it went Ok here's the original pipework... http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29978.jpg Here's the Ka pipe braket trimmed up ready for fitting to the strut.. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29977.jpg Here's how she looked all bolted up and done.. The Focus pipe bracket is fitted on the inner wing to hold the new flexi pipe firmly in place. The Ka bracket holds the middle of the flexi to the lower bolt on the side of the strut just as the original did. http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/29980.jpg After 50+ miles tonight its bed down enough to say they are a great improvement Sparkie

redmex
Still hunting for a 2.0 silvertop head.. Anyone? help!!!! Garage is progressing today after waiting 2 days for skip man to collect the full one,we have moved 2 more now So thats 3 of these skips "6 yards each" http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30065.jpg its amazing how much comes out this hole, the pit will be 3 ft by 12, but the hole has to be 4.5 by 13.5 to allow for the block work.. The progress is demonstrated by my pop @ 71 years young tomorrow http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30066.jpg And the car started a heater matrix leak, I stopped it tonight with rad weld due to no spare time atm .. All will be ok next season when this garage is completed the car can have propper repair work again
redmex
Still hunting for a 2.0 silvertop head.. !!!! While in the breakers yesterday looking for trim stuff, these fell into my pocket http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30089.jpg So I had to use them or they would be wasted http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/30090.jpg Next plan is to fit an oil pressure gauge as a early warning should the engine start to suffer oil pump failure.. Unlikely to be needed with such low miles on this car, but I plan 2.0 in the future so who knows, prevention is better than cure !.. Sparkie BTW we've turned 23,000 miles now!
