scottybo Posted July 13, 2012 Author Share Posted July 13, 2012 yo just half an update really, i started to rub down the skirts from my old si today but completely forgot i lent out the power sander so i only did about half of each before my arms could literally not bare to move anymorehttp://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/scottybo1/2012-07-13152933.jpg i also went about repairing a few minor issues ive found with the car, as with many escorta there were some patches of rust starting to come through on the tailgate, i rubbed them all down and used a dremmel to get right into the pitted areas of the rust so they were all nice n shiny (forgot to take a pic at this point) filled them in, sanded and painted!, dont think it looks too bad what do you think?http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/scottybo1/2012-07-13152622.jpg i also rubbed down and resprayed a nasty scuff the car had on the front wing, when the guy damaged it he scuffed it really badly and it went quite deep into the metal as well, so to avoid it rusting he just sprayed the wing (the wrong colour might i add) so rubbed her down, filled in the scuff (pretty noticable up close before i did this) rubbed down and sprayed again, once again i dont think it looks too badhttp://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/scottybo1/2012-07-13152652.jpg unfortunately because i need to use the car daily i haven't been able to take the bumper off and have it sprayed as this means the car will be off the road for a few days, and the mrs wot let me use the focus as she 'needs it more than i need the escort' so the bumper will have to wait until i get a free weekend. the bits ive been doing so far are just like when ive got an hour free or so but ive got access to the ramp and garage this weekend at my friends workshop so hopefully some progress will be made soon! i will of course keep you posted with more lovely pics as and when i can Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mondy 16" are cheap and cheerful you can't go wrong I would give careful consideration to what type of pad and disc you use rather than size. I use a 278 black diamond combie with ds2500, braided hose and upped fluid, better than a 300mm imo! You going to Ford fair? Loving the in house cleaning! Christ, I get the evil looks and cold shoulder for days from a little over spray on the outside brickwork..... If a brought an exhaust into the livingroom she'd take the hedge pruning shears to my scrotum while I slept. worse thing is though (well maybe not the worst given the ball bag triming result) she'd use it as an excuse to have me remodel the whole livingroom AGAIN! scottybo Posted July 15, 2012 Author Share Posted July 15, 2012 they are just mintex pads and discs i didnt pay a great deal for them and if you want me to be puuuuuuuurfectly honest i only really wanted to change them for the image of the behind the wheel (bows head in shame as admitting to being a poser haha) i know the brakes dont really need changing as a 1600 zetec will never need them but u know im not sure if im going to ford fair or not yet, i went last year and it wasnt as good as it used to be, and i dont really want to go on my own lol in house cleaning has to be done its cold outside u know! when i was living back at my mums a few years back me n my dad brought my bike into the kitchen to do some work on as it was getting dark, my mum literally had kittens when she came down the next morning haha shes asleep mate, but no doubt my great idea will come back to haunt me not long after her alarm goes off in the morning and actually you saying that about another x reg...i saw a y reg the other day which was pretty cool as i know theyre unbelievably rare and its depressing that some people take such good care of a basic cooking model...but all the gti's, rs' and xr's are all rusty as fook and in generally poor condition Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
