come and pick up my si interior! that basic style is poopoo malarkey!

haha, I've got an SI interior being offered from you, Sleeman's offered me his half leather GTi interior - I'm spoilt for choice. :D I've decided that whilst I've still got the kids dropping crumbs and wiping chocolate into the seats, I'll stick with the cloth - not so bothered if it gets dirty - easy to clean and not that expensive to repair - once I've stopped the school runs, will sort out decent interior then and prob get rid of back seets or somethin drastic along those lines.

cheers for the offer tho. dropped your gearknob in the post this morning, you should get it tomorrow dude (friday).

anyone got an original gti clock?

aye, alreeady got the white dials on the dash, got a ghia time clock but the white is different, doesn't match the dash - looks odd. looking for a white clock, found this website:

http://www.metal-monkey.co.uk/acatalog/Esc...Clock_Face.html

thinking white with electric blue to match the plasmas.

this is if I can't find an orig white/red time clock

scottybo - did the gearknob turn up ok?

yeah did that one with swapping the front bit, bit I'm a bit awkward - as I've got the plasma dials, they're more of an 'ice white' than a sail white the standard white dials and the ghia clock are (there are 40million shades of white - ever looked round B&Q for a tub of 'white paint' it takes fcuking hours). thinking of changing the plasma dials though for a set of alu ones from Metal monkey (link in thread above) you can get EL backing so you get backlighting through the dials and you can choose font, marker style etc, not a bad price either. All those wanting backlighted dials, check it out! but thats one for the new year after I've got some rubber on the alloys. the missus bought the plasmas for me b'day, she'd kill me if I swapped them within 2 months! haha.

glad your happy with the gearknob mate. I'm lovin my new s/wheel.

you deffo will want nicer brakes behind turbines - mine still had the poo standard brakes (did have a complete RS2K set up I was going to fit)

my turbines were painted by me using halfrauds rattle cans in ford gunmetal grey with brand new centre caps from a 07 fiesta to get the blue backing (from ford stealer were only about £20 odd)

BTW as interiors go, the GTI one is my prefference as 1) I like leather (I must do since I repair it for a living) 2) more supportive than standard cack and 3) easier to clean due to leather being wipe clean and the fabric section being of a more resiliant make up - not as soft to touch but tougher

Oh and for your steering wheel, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease get a mk5 fiesta airbag (straight fit)

thats what I did in mine :D

hi,

yeah, i did have one of those and did try it on when I fitted the leather steering wheel. The blue ford badge looked better, but it was far too bulbous - made the steerin wheel look like it had a beer gut, I know that the car os supposed to reflect the owner, but thats a little too far lol.

unfortunately the turbines I got, whilst in pretty goot nick seem to have had a love affiar with a couple of kerbs. So a refurb is the only way to go and as they have to strip it backwhilst they're doing it, they do a colour change included in the price. i think the missus will decide that one ( I have to let here a little input in every now and again or she sulks haha)

I have serious spinal damage and the standards are the right support for, anything too hard and I cripple over in pain within a minute. I need the soft seats for adequate comfort for my back, wierdly, the escort seats standard "kack" are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. tried driving my brothers Audi A5 and I had to fall out of the car before the end of the road due to the shooting pains up my back and down my legs :(.

I agree that I'm gonna have to go for a bigger brake setup when I get the turbines on. are the RS easy to fit, I've been reading the mondy 3 conversion on here and looking at going that way??

nice to meet you today man, sorry i couldnt have invited you in for a cup of tea or summit, got the mother in law over and as you could see i was doing some work for a friend. cars looking sweet though man, as for the exhaust if your looking for a real budget upgrade id suggest buying the centre section for a 1.8 as they are about a half an inch bigger and should still mate up to your peco nicely. redmex is changing his 1.6 system to the 1.8 for the added performance but he wants to keep the noise down so hell be using the standard 1.8 rear box as well

thats a bit silly using the standard box?????????? thats good to know that the 1.8 will fit, have found this on fleabay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280632827659?ssP...984.m1438.l2649 def noticed the difference on your exhaust, makes me wonder why they put shuch a pissy pipe on in the first place??

Got the skirts back and gave them a soaping and a jet wash down and they've come up a treat, really good nick, I'm well chuffed with them :D love my jet though, has saved me time on sanding :innocent: strips paint like anything, have to use it on the lowest settin when doing the car :D but it brought the skirts up nicely and the spats (nice one on those, better condition than the ones I had.) I've ordered those bolts I was telling you about for the spats, should be getting enough for two sets if you want the rest? Reckon rivet the end at the wheel arch and one of those bolts at the other end to tuck it up neatly and jobs a goodun (bit of sealant to assist, but prob overkill). cheers for the advise on the underseal, wouldn't have thought to do that if you hadn't said.

I hope you do find someone wanting those wingbacks, it would be a shame if they where skipped, but not for me I'm afraid.

Your motor is lookin sweet, when you've got some skirts sorted you'll have to stick up some pics - why don't you just paint the whole car black? would make colour matching a piece of p1ss lol.

good meeting ya today, not to worry about the cuppa, maybe nxt time. Had a good look down the beach and just got back in time for the kids. quite a nice drive down to bournmouth, traffic was pretty light, only took about 45 mins.

If your ever up my way, give me a shout. kettles always on.
