probs to keep the noise down and the like. no worries about the spats man as i said i would never use them and id rather someone put them to use rather than having them gathering dust in my garage like. its got the skirts on it now dude, when i took the ones off that you collected i just swapped em straight over for the other ones that were the right colour in the first place, only took a half hour a side maybe. i under seal everything man so i guess its just force of habbit for me as im used to old mk3 fiestas n they are worse for rust than the escorts are!

if it was up to me the car would be white, with white wheels, i know it doesnt appeal to everyone but i fookin love white cars

glad you had a nice day down my way, bournemouths not too bad i suppose, and the women here arent half bad either!

right, hi guys, and a merry xmas to everyone out the in EVOland.

been busy on the scrounge recently - Hi to Scotty and Sleeman, been sorting myself out with some goodies. As you may be aware I burnt a hole in my splashguard and as i was missing the side bits, I went a hunting (no rabbits yet!!) and the scrappy thats supposed to be sorting me out is taking their sweet time in posting "tryin to find all the screws" is the excuse I'm getting.

other than that i have now aquired:

a set of RS2000 front callipers and discs - not the full 300mm conversion but def better than standard and for £22, you can't argue!

a better set of side skirts and spats, that will be sanded and painted over xmas.

The orig bolts for the spats - once I find out the sizing, I'll prob find them cheaper in screwfix. lol

still got the footwell lights to fit

door lights to fit - gonna wire up loom for both at the same time

billet oil cap

some chrome covers for engine parts (don't want to put on till the splash guards arrive as they'll get covered in sh1t quicker than you can say bfliuqvatylvifhvln, fnhvnugbruvh;RNY (prize for anyone who can actually say that) haha

set of St24 16" turbines that I'm going to get refurbed and painted and some rubbers put on

carpet for the back of the rear seats - DIY trimmed from some acoustic carpet.

Some htemp paint and some vhtemp paint for some engine bay tidying

so got a busy xmas ahead of me.

will add photos as things develop.

cheers to everyone for the advise to date, don't dissapear just yet, more to come.

Hope everyone has a good one and I'll raise a glass to you all.

dno if you seen it mate, but following our conversation about your unfortunate accident many years ago, check mine out

http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums/in...howtopic=148675

sh1t dude, your festa was almost a carbon copy of mine at the end, apart from mine was radiant red and the front and back had been shortened a bit. mine took me roughly from behind (lol) at an angle, I hit the car in front and the kerb at the same time which flipped me forwards onto the roof and the into a lamp post. when did yours happen, mine was dec 1999, missed out on the bloody millenium party because of that. :vangry:

  • 3 weeks later...

Just thought I'd do an update as it's been a while:

Has been a slow month due to all the rain and spending my money on Xmas. Xmas eve meal was nice, managed to do lobster in a whiskey source:

lighting the Jack Daniels was fun, unfortunately didn't get a picture as I was too busy diving for cover - was supposed to be brandy but used whiskey instead and the flame engulfed the cooker hood!!!!

other than that, some light jobs done in the few dry moments over the last week:

Back seats trimmed, looks well smart in the boot now, easy to do as well once you get in there and get started - fivers worth of acoustic carpet looks a million quid better:

And a couple of Xmas pressies that my missus gave me have now joined me in the car, keeping it safe in the carparks:

Always wanted a Chucky in the car

currently underway:

Sanding down the sideskirts and spats - have the spats and one skirt done, just have to do the other skirt, then it's ready to be painted.

Have a new set of wingmirrors waiting to be painted at the same time

currently strippin down a set of Teves Callipers to be shotblasted on the 11th, painted then fitted as soon as.

painting of the rear drums and the strutbrace

Still have to fit the door warning lights and the footwell lights, trying to find a cable that will fit through the door plug without having to drill it out this time, then will wire them up.

As soon as the weather improves, sorting out a little bit of rust by the rear wiper.

Thats gotta be a first on this site a master class in cooking and retrimming in one post awesome, enjoying your updates on this keep em coming :thumb:

cheers dude, always like to please. next time though, gonna buy the lobsters live and cook them myself, they were a bit overdone being pre-cooked. served in their shells, not bad I think. the re-trimming was a lot easier than expected, I just unhooked the front cloth, trimmed around 15mm over, folded it back and tucked it in under the seal for the front cloth and re-attached the front, unbolted all the hinges (one at a time) and tucked the cloth under before putting the bolts back through the cloth. does make it look a million times better. well worth the fiver I paid for the cloth and 30mins spent doing it. killed my back though leaning into the car like that :(.

no worries, will keep em coming, lots coming up over the next few months :thumb:

u done the turbines yet? as i said looks through redmex's thread to see how he refurbed his at home, best idea ever

sorry dude, not yet. waiting to be able to afford to get them refurbed professionally. get the right bits filed and the right bits filled. knowing me i'd file all the bits that needed filling and fill all the bits that need filing :innocent: they're on the list, don't fret my young mukker, they'll get done :P

finally, spent the day fitting the foot-well lights and the red door lights instead of the reflectors. these have been sitting on my side for a couple of months now, so I decided it was about time to get them fitted! - Done!

gonna crack on with the side skirts now and get those on soon.

u gna go for any sort of splitter at all or front end mods?

mmmm dunno, I have enquired about a cossie bib for the front, but unsure. when I was in the stealers looking for a part they had listed a splitter for the escort 6 as a standard part????? don't know if anyone knows what these look like? I just sort of glanced it at we were scrolling through the screens. not too keen on going for another vehicles splitter although the small rover one looked quite nice.........

?( tbh dunno, the driveway is on a downward slope back toward the house and I only just fit over the kerb atm, just have a nasty feeling that if I put a splitter on, I'd be forever ripping it off on the kerb :(. considering the cossie bib, but it's not a priority atm tbh.

got the side skirts completely sanded down today :D looking very smooth. just got a couple of very quick jobs to do first and then I can get onto painting the lot. That includes: side skirts, spats, wing mirrors and strut brace. Gonna paint the rear drums whilst I have the rear wheels off to fit the skirts and spats. No point in taking them off, putting them back on then off gain, then on................ might as well do it all in one go.

get the car looking sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet :D
