Puma also had 'turbines'

just been onto ebay and there is a difference between the puma and the st24 turbines, liking the st24 turbines more but not sure about the 4-spoke, although the pumas are 5 spoke, not keen on the design???? the puma are 15, the st24 are 16 by the looks of things. duno if anyone can correct this?

dont even consider the puma ones, theyre awful lol

yeh the mondeo st24 items are the 4 spoke design, 16 inch so if u were to go for them you would want either 205/45/16's or 195/45/16s for tyres. the st24 wheels are one of my favorite design wheels that ford did. stevemo in here had them on his escort and i think it looked sick, check it out

gone for the turbines eh? good choice, get em done in gloss black. then paint ur callipers black and get some diamond black brake discs

black all round!!!

yup! already earmarked a set od black diamond discs and pads, but thinking about the st220 brake coversion for the front, so not going to order discs till I've mad eup my mind on that, but with the turbines being a lot more open than what I've got, I don't really think I've got much of a choice - it has to be done! will be embarrasing having nice set of alloys with bottle caps behind them!! found a company in segensworth that can refurb (if it's needed) and respray the alloys for £45 a wheel, not bad I think, so 1 a week or somethig then get some pirelli rubbers on them, all good to go! gonna get the wheels done pro - don't trust myself meddling with the only things that keeps me out of the hedges! haha.

Just a word of advice for the ST220 conversion.....all mk3 mondeos have the same front brakes, so the same calipers :) Might save you some money because ones from a 1.8 are the same :)

also with the st24 alloy wheels you will need spacers to space the wheels out from the caliper 5mm is best i think!

wldnt have thought u would need spacers

Already test fitted the wheels on my 300mm conversion and they needed a wheel spacer for them to freely turn

cheers for the heads up on both of those - spotted the callipers on fleabay and the new ones aren't that expensive for the 1.8 - it's amazing how the price differs for the different models, but the callipers are the same - most of the listings use the same photo for the 1.8 and the st24 but different prices!!!!! nice one lads - will buy you all a pint if we ever meet up! cars gonna look sweeeeeeeeeet!

That's not strictly true. They are effectively the same, with regards to fitment, but Ford changed supplier of the front brakes with the facelift around 2004.

any difference in quality or ability to fit the escort with the new supplier over the old (i would imagine that either the new ones are better quality or cheaper, depending which way for went??) will the 2004 still fit the escort?

please excuse the mats, the car needs a hoover - bloody weather! I'm loving the wheel though, so much more pleasurable to drive with, looks brand new, really happy with it - best £35 spent ever! :D
