Morning all :)

Not much happening again lately due to having the poxy flu and waiting on parts at the mo,,, have managed to put the mk5 boot lid on this morning as well as a mk5 light on the back, simple enough to do actually, just need a little fun with the angle grinder to make the hole bigger and then drill new holes for the light mounts and then the panel underneath gets cut out and the mk5 bit fitted under the light to match the curve of the light and bumper. Need to do something about the boot lock as it doesn't simply swap over and i tried to disassemble both locks to no avail so may have to buy a new boot lock kit and make it to my old key :\

Anyways, engine wise i've got the ecu and the engine is now waiting on a new oil pump gasket and then can get the new water pump, oil pump, pick up pipe and sump fitted then a new cambelt and cam cover (going black top cover)

Once the above is done then it can meet the gearbox and go into the hole ...WOOOO!!!!!

Enough talking...piccy time :)

New year and small progress. The joy of the workshop being busy. Not much has happened with mine apart from deciding the paint / colour scheme and getting the motor running at last!!

Still loads of work ahead but it finally runs which is a big milestone

Anyways, pic and vid :)

keep us posted man!

always feels so good when it finally moves under its own steam.

i like the amount of work that goes into a project like this. but the only problem i have is that, yes it will look like a cosworth (it will look bloody good, no disputing that) and people might think it is a cosworth.

but it will be so slow. i am no different, mine looks like a gti but its a 1.6 and its embarrassing getting outrun by little saxos n the like. once my 130 is in it will be a different story but u know what i mean

Hi mate love the project I'm selling my s14 and building another cosworth replica as I miss my old one ! May dump a focus st lump in it not sure ATM was toying with the idea of an rb25 or sr20det and making rwd , also I need your help of getting a mk5 boot to fit my mk6? As my old cosworth replica I just took out the lights on the boot and smoothed it

Fitting a mk5 is actually really easy. All you need is a boot (obviously), then cut out the rear panels to allow the mk5 light to sit in the rear quarter and drill 2 new mounts. Then the piece underneath the lamp needs changing for the mk5 unit. Job done, then a quick rewire

I wasnt trying to have a dig by any means. I just think when its something like a cosworth. Even if it is a replica. I needs to have thr guts to back itself up.

urs is coming along much quicker than mine is and im really impressed at the pace of this build
