DECEMBER UPDATE:

Last piece of flocking finally fitted!

Day-time picture of DVD unit (needed to chop lower section of plastic off dash for it to fit - was hoping the unit would fit straight in but no, never mind)

Dash complete (for now ;) )

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0646.jpg

Dash and night (can turn DVD screen off when playing CDs which is good - matches all my blueness too)

This is a picture i edited on my iPhone as came out well dark, and is a 'pre winter wheels' shot

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0649-1.jpg

A set of OK looking alloys came in at work which had 4 matching, as new tyres on so snapped them up for the winter season (and will be putting my alloys in for a refurb soon). Looks crap, and after seeing this picture the black bonnet is definately going this weekend! Will finally get around to cutting holes for vents and decide whether to paint or vinyl wrap.

Almost as good as it would look if it had a colour coded bonnet with RS2k bulges

great choice if you did :thumb:

There was one recently up for sale but didn't have the money at the time. The original green bonnet is now back on and the black one will be getting played around with over the next couple of months. If the vent idea works I'll then just have to decide what colour to spray or get itt vinyl wrapped.

I've also removed the race harnesses so if anyone wants to buy them PM me :thumb:

  • 3 months later...

Will get some updated pictures up soon. It's been a while :innocent:

Green bonnet is now back on, and black bonnet is in my mates workshop ready for cutting. Dropping vents off this evening and having a crack at cutting and fitting over the next month or two. Any advise on cutting holes in a bonnet will be much appreciated! :thumb:

Hit a rabbit last month doing about 50-60mph. Was going to post in SUYS but pictures looked a bit pathetic. Basically rabbit went right through lower grill, broke power steering pipes and put a small crack in the bumper. Also lost my tow eye cover :vangry: Was all easily fixed though. Got some new pipes off a GTi which looked in much better condition (black rather than rust lol) so that was worth changing anyway. Got a black tow eye cover for now and i had a lower lockwood grill with 2 air trumpets that just needed attaching to grill and fitting to motor. All sorted, but still undecided on the lower grill with trumpets. One day i love it, the next i think its tacky haha.

Got a new window sticker, appropriately labelled 'genuine scrapyard parts' - as i work at a car breakers ;) and fitted flat blades.

Finally removed my laguna splitter for the espace splitter which was much easier to fit as had a ramp this time, so got a nice snug fit. IMO the extra drop looks great.

Pictures to follow shortly

Got to a computer at last

Apart from the picture next to the Fiesta ST, all the pics are from a month or so ago. Looking to get some nice pics soon or at FITP :)

This was when motor was getting fixed in my mates garage after hitting that rabbit :vangry: (old spiltter still on)

The damage:

Cracked bumper...

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0788.jpg

Missing tow eye cover...

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0787.jpg

Cracked (and probably in need of change anyway) power steering pipes...

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0786.jpg

Power steering fluid which had p!ssed everywhere...

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0784.jpg

New/donated pipes (far better condition than original :) )

http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj208/TC-DNB/IMG_0785.jpg

Then after fixing car, and having no lower grill, i finally got round to fitting my lockwood grill with trumpets (from Stevemo on here) and my Espace splitter. Got a much nicer fit than with the Laguna and i love the extra inch or so drop - subtle yet effective! Excuse the dirt, hadn't yet cleaned up ;)

My cheeky new sticker...

Bonnet in workshop waiting for some free time to attempt cutting Astra GSi vents into

And last, but not least - as she is today! (Panther black mirrors replaced carbon fibre wrapped ones, and flat euro wiper blades fitted)

As always, comments welcome :thumb:

Nice wheels... They're the same as my old ones! Hope they're not actually my old ones because I technically still own them :pancake: (long, boring story). Glad my old dash went to some use.

Cheers, shame they've taken a beating! The roads i take to work everyday are shite. The amount of potholes, cracks, dips etc are silly, and doesn't help getting run off small roads by tw@ts in vans and women in 4x4s who don't know the width of their motors!

I was planning to get a refurb done, and glad i didn't when i nearly had a head-on with a speeding van and was forced into a massive curb...wasn't best pleased. Just looks like i can't park now haha!
