Looks good tho! Looks really nice Liam, Like this car alot, Shame the engine is a poop one. Poop maybe, but still and easier swap to an RST engine than it would be from a zetec car Cut my springs and i'll cut your head off This car probably won't be geting lowered, just don't fancy spending more money on this 1 just to sell it (yes I know I can transfer parts but will be looking to buy an already sorted Escort next time round)
massivewangers
Just borrow some spring compressors and do it yourself, it isn't that difficult
LiamGTR
Just borrow some spring compressors and do it yourself, it isn't that difficult I struggled spraying my bump strips...., took 3 different attempts and even still they are fading... Take from that what you will

LiamGTR
if you were gonna get rid of the car you would of done by nowI know what you're saying, but that's not an option. I've paid my insurance off in 1 so i'm bloody well going to use it! I can't afford a new carI definitely can't afford insurance to go up with a new car (or the car I want...3rd 1.6) - i've already paid out £1,700! LiamGTR
Love it Liam, the paint looks really shiny......ont thing i dont like is the exhaust tho The paint is actually really good, just the arches and bump strips (my fault) let it down, and obviously the odd few scratches it has. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do/want to do with the exhaust because: 1. Due to the rear bumper I have it has no exit for (if I was to get) a proper exhaust.2. I don't want to spend anymore money on it, i want a 3dr 1.6! Thanks all the same
stevmo3691
why a 1.6? not a 1.8?
hicksy
why a 1.6? not a 1.8? Insurance costs?
LiamGTR
why a 1.6? not a 1.8? why a 1.6? not a 1.8? Insurance costs?Mostly insurance, but also the fact that I don't need a 1.8, all I want to be able to do is actually reach motorway speeds without having the rev the tits off my car Which i'm sure a slightly stripped out 3dr 1.6 would do. LiamGTR
To be honest i've not really looked, i'm already paying ~£1,700 on a 1.4 so got knows what a 1.6/8 will be
massivewangers
I know you're young, but do you live in a rubbish area or something? Cos that's an obscene amount to be paying for insurance! Oh, and going back slightly, painting is far harder than changing oily bits. Surely someone could give you a hand? It isn't hard at all!
ChrisW
That is a stupidly high price. My first escort, 1.6 at 18 living in same town was only £1100. I know it was a couple of years ago but you're paying quite a lot!
LiamGTR
I know you're young, but do you live in a rubbish area or something? Cos that's an obscene amount to be paying for insurance! Oh, and going back slightly, painting is far harder than changing oily bits. Surely someone could give you a hand? It isn't hard at all!My area isn't too bad no, not posh..., but nobody gets stabbed here either. Aaron offered to give me a hand but I wanted to actually do something on my own to my own car, Fcuk trying that one again! That is a stupidly high price. My first escort, 1.6 at 18 living in same town was only £1100. I know it was a couple of years ago but you're paying quite a lot! It's ridiculous I know... Year on year comparison:18 years old1st car - 1.4 Encore - Garaged0 NCB£1,680.91 Renewal came through at:19 years old1.4 Encore - Garaged1 NCB3 points - TS10 - Failing to comply with traffic light signals £1,711.31 :nutter: I know i'm partly to blame (3 points), but the 3 points only added £110 so it still would have been £1,601.31 anyway!!
